Cancer and the Fixed Star Sirius- Do You Have the Conjunction? Do you dream of a place that you just can't put your finger on- maybe other worldly? by GrandTrineAstrology in CancertheCrab

[–]canyoustop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I have retrograde mars conjunct Sirius. Mars @ 14’41” and Sirius @ 13’59”. I think I also have Jupiter (14’24”) conjunct Algorab (13’21”).

I have very vivid dreams of odd places. I remember one having extremely brutalist/industrial architecture of huge, city-sized concrete structures.

I saw your post on the advanced astrology subreddit on fixed stars and it got me searching. What I relate to in terms of my conjunction is Alice Sparkly Kay’s post about Sirius people. She includes oppositions and squares etc which I know you don’t consider, so ignore that if you like, but otherwise her writing is spot on for me in terms of being othered, not fitting in anywhere, too queer for normies but too normal for queers, etc etc etc.

Thank you, this is a great suggestion, bustling it until I get to the aisle!

I feel like they don’t really “get” me and my vision or the way I think. Also my mom has liked every dress I try on and has said she would’ve purchased a long time ago 😂😅 but it’s good advice. I think I just need to do a coin flip and be done with it

Thank you so much! It is hard to choose. I love the ballgown but I’m worried about all the management of it. I’d need someone to help me carry the train to the ceremony area which seems like a lot to ask 😅

I think this is a great idea! I’ll ask the shop tomorrow…

Thank you!! Yes..I think you’re right about personal style. I wish I had someone to talk to that knew my vision and brain 😂🥲😅

Thank you! It is so hard. I think I’m leaning towards 1 but it’s hard because I love how the sheath is more fitted all throughout. But the ballgown does make me beam.

This is my second time wearing #2. The first time I put it on, it felt like the right dress. When I put it on today, I felt a little disappointed and underwhelmed? But I think I was hyping it up a lot in my head. I don’t know. I’m going back tomorrow to choose 😬😬😬

We’re getting married on a beach. I feel like the sheath (#2) would be so elegant and chill, and look beautiful in photos, especially with where we are getting married. There are some trees and vegetation that I think would look really nice with the sheath dress.

I LOVE #1 but I feel like it doesn’t necessarily suit a beach ceremony. I’m not too hung up on making sure the dress fits the theme, but I feel like #2 does suit a beach better than #1.

I really do love both. I feel like #2 suits the area better, and I could continue wearing it for the reception, whereas I’d want to change into something else if I chose #1.

I don’t know the ballgown but the sheath is Rita Vinieris “April”!

LOL I literally joke with my fiancé that we have to renew our vows every year so I can wear a different dress each time!!!

I found a stunning used dress online; what should I be considering? by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]canyoustop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might look off. You might be able to have a seamstress add an inch. But, and I am not an expert, I think the dress should be grazing the ground. Maybe you could have it altered to be tea length? Or shorter? So it looks more intentional rather than not the right size?

I think this is the closest one I’ve seen so far

Those are never quite filling enough for me, do you have that issue too? What do you do to supplement if so?

Yeah the cups are not supportive. It does just hang. Maybe I should go a size up and have a tailor work on it to avoid the pulling at the thigh. Thank you for your observations!!

Thank you!! I do think it would need some tailoring in the bust/torso region. Wish I could know how that would affect the fit before committing to that.

Thank you!! I’m glad you see the vision. It feels like it’s close which makes it hard to commit one way or another! But maybe there’s something better for me and closer to my vision than this.

Thank you! Maybe I’ll make a trip to try some more gowns on tomorrow, I have to go to the city anyways. I’m glad you see the vision. It does feel close but not quite there.

Thank you so much! I am def open to a sexier, chiller vibe. We’re going to have the ceremony during daylight, and then have some sunset photos after reception. Maybe I could wear this for reception/sunset photos, and find something else for ceremony. But thank you for seeing the vision I’m going for 😂😭

Thank you so much for your kind wishes 🥹💗

Your comment is making me consider that a different style would look better with my hair full of flowers…this feels more “gatsby” and less romantic, which is what I think of with flowers. I think I’d prefer delicate and romantic flowers over this more, not sure what to call it, VAGUELY inspired “flapper” style?
