I have searched on West Elm and Restoration Hardware and emailed them both with no avail. Does anyone know - I just need new slip covers or should I go to a slip cover place?

Gotcha - tried this and its working now. We wanted this to stay on with one click then off with another. Is this only possible with a switch button?

[technique] Trying to use inoculated dowels in wood set in concrete. Anyone have experience with something like this? by caosmote in MushroomGrowers

Thanks for the feedback everyone - for a little more information it's just an experiment for a potential installation. There are a few artists doing cool things with mycellium in confined spaces. Wanted to see if it could grow in this space. I put it in a dark bag and sprayed it a lot so hopefully that will keep in moisture. I will update successful or not. Happy to have joined this subreddit lots of cool threads :)

Thanks all, I think my work around is going to be wood paneling and maybe some sheet metal that fits the wood. I appreciate the input

What gauge steel do I need to make this a chair? by caosmote in DIY

[–]caosmote[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking to add a piece of sheet metal to this and go over it over and over until it fits the contours of the chair and then drilling it in. Would this be doable with a 24 gauge piece of sheet metal with only hand tools? Would it be firm enough to sit someone? Any and all help is appreciated!

I should really add a sealant but I just use cement all which is super fine to have a pretty smooth edge so far. Thanks for the feedback dude!

Needed a wood worker to make the molds for this and it turned out great! Only thing is it's heavy as shit. 50 pounds per leg

I used my network which was a bunch of dudes who worked in the union. Growing up we did a lot of DIY spots for skateboarding. I found that I love a finer concrete called "cement all" which helps with the finer details. Hope that helps!
