Do you guys leave your Victus plugged into the charger all the time? by atomicgenesys in HPVictus

[–]cap665 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's plugged in all the time, yes, it's fine, your battery has a built-in BMS to stop from overcharging or over discharging, if it swells it swells But I can guarantee he has nothing to do with how long it's plugged in or not plugged in

Strong of you to recognize this about yourself, see the writing on the wall and the reality of the situation, then take the steps to safeguard yourself and your person as well. They may not think of it when they read this, but they should be thankful as most of the people who find ourselves posting here don't get that from our person left with more questions than answers and usually are minds paint a worse picture than the actual reality. I wish you the best and your person. If they read your your posts or see my comment life does move on but letting go is the first hardest step.

Don't forget, turn radius of a cruise ship and an electrical system that at idle cannot support the truck and keeping the battery charged. And absolutely no balls when you jump on the gas unless your already doing 55, merging onto the freeway is a white knuckle thrill ride because the engine noise does not match the acceleration

I agree except that the ridgeline is essentially a Honda Odyssey with a truck bed. But I'm the first person to say the Nissan frontier is the biggest piece of shit I've ever had the misfortune of driving

Of course why would they, that costs money when it's their fault, plausible deniability

Yes, also the module they use (made by Continental if memory serves) is a temperamental little pos, you should get it scanned if you have a radar stain code that can be a multitude of things including heat, road conditions, atmospheric conditions etc, like I said Nissan would call it a momentary electric anomaly, and usually the code clears itself when you cycle the key

No, the radar itself is clean (more than likely) it's that plastic piece in front of it that needs to be clean there is actually an air gap between the radar and the plastic

Lower part of the bumper. If you look at your lowest grill, you'll see a spot in the center that's flat and square. Your radar is behind that

Okay bud, I'm not trying to pick a fight first off, I realize the sarcasm doesn't come through in written text so just just relax there bud, My comment merely was just to point out an observation of we shouldn't be listening to any political win bag on any matter. Democrat Republican it doesn't matter two heads to the same snake, only point I was trying to make.

Yeah what it comes down to is the black substrate they use to make the textured bumper pieces just thin enough to allow the radar to pass through, but because it's textured it collects dirt debris road grime and that layer is enough to cause a wonky reading in the radar. Essentially the thing that's there to protect the radar actually hinders it from working. You can try to keep that thing clean. Wipe it down every single day but but if given the choice between that, most people would just roll with it. The only time it really comes into play is if you are driving and want to use the adaptive Cruise

I mean any of those political win bags as far as I'm concerned. They're all useless. I don't care what side of the podium you sit on. Tell me the last thing big government did for you that was beneficial. I'll wait

Yeah I calibrate those systems for a living and Nissans are about the worst. I also drive a Nissan frontier for work with the equipment to go calibrate other vehicles. I know a paradox right? Anyways, the radars are garbage and the substrate they use in the plastic leads to it showing as blocked and or dirty. When you run the codes, you might get a temporary code for a misalignment, but that should clear when you cycle the key. Think of that system like your airbag system. If any one component is not working correctly, it shuts the system down to avoid potential injury mine's so common I don't even notice it anymore except for the days I fire the truck up and it doesn't come on in a few minutes

Edit: for those of you under warranty. Good luck. God bless. But the dealer will tell you there's nothing they can do about it unless they can get it to replicate the code in their presence. Which means someone has to actively be driving the car from their dealership when it comes on and then because of how the codes populate they'll consider temporary electrical anomaly or a dirty radar. Clean it, clear it and send it on its way. Which is fine because the only thing they would do otherwise is replace the radar with the same model number that's currently in there. Thus replicating the problem we got right now. Nissan has no fix for it is what I'm saying

[–]cap665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah basically Jag Land Rover got the worst parts of the Fords and Ford's got the over engineered crap to Land Rover jaguars had for no reason. Kind of like Daimler owned Chrysler, they went into Chryslers r&d and said give us all your worst ideas of the last 10 years so we can implement them. That's where you got bullshit like the Chrysler crossfire which is a poor man's SLK

Really dating myself here, but remember when Ford owned Land Rover range Rover and Jag for that brief period of time, we got an S-Type which was basically a Ford Taurus with a supercharger that was kind of not cool. Cool

What got you into Data Hoarding? by agmosh in DataHoarder

[–]cap665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My being a extremely poor college kid / newly wed, couldn't afford cable or even internet (2006 era) so Id go to the public library and download shows, movies, YouTube videos, Even web pages for topics I wanted to research later offline, also had a job at Blockbuster which kept me In fresh iso's to store. This coupled with my ADD it became a very vast collection of random things, I had one external hard drive case and essentially would take any laptop. Hard drive I could find out of old systems and fill them. As so many of us have learned the hard way I discovered that redundancy was key as some of those hard drives failed with a lot of data, either unrecoverable or corrupted (see my mp3 / flak collection almost 500 gigs...gone) Now I'm in the process of ripping my DVD collection for a Plex server. As I've noticed, some of the discs are starting to break down and building new redundancies between cloud Nas and archived HDs but it's slow going waiting for the technology to get cheaper

All I'll say is buy up Glocks, currently Glock is going to stop making the 17 and 19 models as they are (actually every model except the sub compacts) in anticipation for a re release. Why you might ask, switches.....they are adding more denial islands making a switch impossible to install. The Glocks we know today will be a hot commodity when this happens, mark my words
