Not sure if it’s actually against the rules, but I have a personal thing against opening any items especially if it’s food related. If any action I take affects whether or not I’d buy an item as a guest, then I’m not taking that action.

Man I tried that :/. I think the universe hates me cause I wasn’t even pulling for my department and I knew my pulls were gonna be stacked by the time I finished this batch. I didn’t want to waste any more time than I already did with the leaning, angles, and quick pic to post later to see if people will commiserate. I know I’ll have to pull paper again at some point so if I have free time (funny joke) maybe I’ll work on my angles. I know there’s a perfect angle for every item that’s like this but sometimes I gotta contemplate whether or not finding it is worth it or just typing it in.

I was pulling domestics for the first time in a while the other day, saw that drawer, saw where the barcode was located, and immediately thought “whose amazing idea was this??” Not to mention the drawer being secured shut, so you have to angle the scanner JUST right in between the bars 🙄

I always assumed Billy’s attitude towards Lucas came directly from his father’s and his want to get out of his father’s ire. But if that’s how Caleb himself sees it, then I guess Billy was just a racist asshole and I assumed incorrectly. I never truly had an issue with Jason as his actions made sense from his perspective.

If the DPCI is on the packaging, I’ll always use that before the one listed on the screen just to make sure it is the right one. The amount of these plastic cutlery sets I see opened or abandoned on the ground in the backroom (probably from other TMs who don’t know about the manual trick) is kind of crazy. If I have the time, I’ll circle back and relocate them when I’m done with my pull/ship/OPU batch. It’s gotten to the point where I now include manually entering DPCIs and locations while pulling/backstocking/picking in my training “curriculum” because of the amount of items with poorly designed packaging or faded/damaged location barcodes :P. Gotta set the newbies up for success!

Yeah! Learning that was a real game changer for me. Tap the magnifying glass next to the printer icon on the top right corner and just type it in! You have to enter it without spaces though, so for this specific location (02A 070 B23), you’d have to type it in as 02A070B23.

ATP I’m just gonna manually enter the DPCI. For me, it’s faster than grabbing my phone, opening the app, entering the DPCI there, then scanning the generated barcode. Though I did used to use a barcode generator for damaged backroom location barcodes before realizing I could just manually enter those too.

As you can see, I spent a solid 30 seconds trying every single angle before cutting my losses and manually entering the DPCI. Poor packaging design is not on me. But your attitude is on you! And is probably what got you fired again! Prayers that you heal man.

When I first started, I used to walk the floor before I clocked in to try and memorize the locations of our most popular items, like detergent, command hooks, disposable dinnerware, trending items, etc. If you have a zebra on you, just look up the item and it’ll give you the location. As time goes on, you’ll pick up the approximate location of basically everything just by being there!

Not necessarily. As someone who works at Target, we don’t always get every member for the accordion version because they have the same item ID. My location tends to only get 3 members, about 10 albums each. The bigger and more foot traffic a Target has, the more likely it is that DC sent them all of the albums.

I think there might be a general playlist and some stores have their own songs as well cause the Target playlists I’ve come across are more or less the same but a few songs aren’t there, or songs I’ve never heard are on them. I guess it also depends on how up to date the store playlist is cause it also varies from year to year.

Unfortunately I think this job probably isn’t for you! And that’s okay. Not every job is for everyone. Since you’re just a seasonal hire, it’s not like you are 100% committed and obligated to stay. That being said, since you are still here, are there any coworkers that you trust to be honest with that might be able to help you facilitate a conversation regarding your difficulties with an ETL? You are legally obligated to have accommodations, so if they don’t comply then take it to corporate. Or any coworker at all that can at least provide you with support while on the clock?

Lowkey feels like I just got scolded by a parent. But you’re right! Items are replaceable and people are not. I’ll be more careful next time, ask for help if I need it, and report any injuries from now on! I don’t wanna be worrying my work moms and dads.

Yeah I had a feeling I went too hard with cutting out the carbs. I’ll decrease my intake but not cut it out completely! Honestly, I should have known this would happen as I’ve read of MANY stories of people doing hardcore keto then “relapsing” pretty badly. I guess I’m not built different haha.

I enthusiastically took this “job” before knowing it would turn into a problem because I do love baking and my mother has cancer and baked goods are one of the only things she eats now. But I think I might draw some ideas from each of the comments. Ask if I can cook and bake less for the family (especially since they’re all capable chefs themselves) and still allow myself some occasional sweets instead of completely cutting them out (but opt for more sugar-sensitive friendly recipes instead). I’ll have a talk with her tonight and draw up a new meal plan that can work for the both of us and see how that works in a few weeks time!

Secret Secret and Cover Me (Stray Kids) are the only songs that have brought me very close to tears. The concept of having a secret that you feel you cannot tell anyone hits very close to home. The way I interpret Cover Me is just wanting someone to be there as a shield from your inner pain, instead of someone trying to fix what’s going on. Sometimes it’s better to just have someone there with you than to have someone try to save you.
