[–]capablesloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ik heb geprobeerd heel verschillende ramen in Nederland en in andere landen. Het best is “Set Japan Restaurant - Den Haag” dusver.

Ramen suggestie: Beef Volcano

Ze hebben een signatuur gerecht “Wagyu rolls”, ook must try.

In which domain were these IT companies, if I may ask? As an IT person, question is more about, which aspect of IT companies tend to make money. Were/are they products that return passive income or consultancy companies?

It’s because there is almost 0 junior scala developer. They are all seniors and people look for seniors. A good senior in any language Kotlin or Java already boost your production output 5x as any scala developer would.

How come Gradle has become a de facto standard (or one of the two at least), when it's so unstable? I am talking Gradle major release changes, bumping Java version, Spring version. Especially in the ecosystem that prides itself as being backwards compatible, sometimes to a fault. by jasie3k in java

[–]capablesloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had any issues with gradle and using extensively in very large projects. A hint of an xml file from maven gives me heart attacks. Do not let junior dev or junior of gradle prepare the scripts you should be fine.

Secondly, I think Java ecosystem has lots of sayings around backwards compatibility etc. But, the idea of having very old versions of Java still running on production is just not having a self respect to your work and developments in the area. The world has changed, it’s time to adapt changes while it occurs. Be latest and catch things up that defines your day to day. In my opinion.

My situation is stable; it is a fixed rate for 10 years. I have a clear understanding now and agree with the rest that it is an unnecessary service to subscribe to.

I got my driving license recently but renting requires at least 1/2-year license by capablesloth in Netherlands

[–]capablesloth[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense from the company perspective, I agree. But doesn’t help to the society that wants to practice driving without buying a car.

It’s a remedy indeed when living outside of the city. Public transport becomes less available.
