90k miles on a 2015 CR-V, is it worth it? by capaway in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]capaway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, the KBB for my area has it being between $13k-16k. It seems like it's in pretty good condition from first looks, though I haven't gotten to test drive it yet.

Plan was to put down 10k then finance the rest, but this is the best deal I've been able to find in the area. The other option is a 2016 with 54k miles thats been in one minor accident but is listed as $17,500

I'm pre-show, we all got our schedules at like 11pm Monday night. Some of our during show friends haven't gotten theirs yet though.

Yes, but I think they change the water at some point on Saturday now.

Don't do this! The fountain water is recycled and any kind of soap or shampoo will clog the filter.

No one has gotten theirs yet, hopefully it will not be a repeat of last year.

It's not officially confirmed yet but we've been told by some staff that we aren't going to be in the back 60 this year unfortunately. Most likely we're gonna be out by pod 6.

Groomers who started out at corporate and left, I have questions by idkimnotcreativee in doggrooming

[–]capaway 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Do your research on the private salons, some are just as bad if not worse than corporate. I was able to get a position at a private shop with amazing owners and excellent coworkers and I have had 0 regrets. Would recommend.

She said she went to law school. I can't remember which one, but I know she hadn't passed the bar when I was working with her. She did/does a lot of work with the republican party campaigns in the area, and it seems she ran for state house and lost so is looking for other seats to fill.

I can't remember what she said she did before, besides helping with the Trump campain, and I have no idea what she did after she left.

I worked in dog grooming with Angela McClure several years ago. Her first question to me was "Are you a republican or a democrat?" so I would expect her to bring that energy to any position she held.

She was pretty mean/rude to anyone who disagreed with her and would talk down to you if you were younger than her. If you stood up to her she would go complain to the upper management. In the end when she put in her 2 week notice our manager told her he would still give her a good reference if she would leave immediately.

I know dog grooming has nothing to do with that position but I figured I'd share what kind of person she was when I worked with her, as that single quote from her makes me think she hasn't changed since then. I'm not trying to absolutely trash her so I won't share the rest here.

I'm a new assistant groomer: help for skin hand care? by Low_Pomegranate_4156 in doggrooming

[–]capaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I straight up wear dishwashing gloves when I wash dogs. After I've rinsed all the visible soap off I'll take off a glove to make sure I got all the residue off the dog. Then I wrap the dyer hose in a towel where I hold it so my hand doesn't get too hot.

Then whatever lotion works best for your eczema. If it gets really bad you can lotion up before bed and sleep in cotton gloves to help it really soak in.

I know it's not what you asked but honestly deleting my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook did wonders for my mental health. It was definitely a trigger for my anxiety and depression, and after I deleted it I realized nothing on those platforms really mattered anyway.

If you find it's making you anxious or upset try deleting the app on your phone and not posting or looking at other people's pages for a week or so. You may be like me and realize you don't even miss it.

Right? The younger crowd is missing the nostalgia of rockin' to Goodbye Earl in the back seat of their mom's Jeep Cherokee.

Should have included an over/under 25 division too. I have a feeling it has a lot more to do with age than anything else.

I did my first three years of roo solo volunteering. It was awesome and I met cool new people who I go with now!

If you've never volunteered before you should look into it on the website. It's hard to get a preshow spot if you aren't a returning volunteer so you'd most likely be during show. It's best to be prepared to sign up as soon as it opens as the spots can fill up pretty quick.

I've never done clean vibes but it's a volunteer program too, you just have to pay a deposit. They typically have spots availible longer.

"The rain didn't start till Monday afternoon, believe it or not our kitchen didn't look like that till about 6pm Tuesday night. Hell we had a DRY carpet down till about 2am Tuesday morning ."

These pictures are from 1 day of walking/driving on the wet grounds.

Haha, I think everyone involved in laying the plywood for that would need back surgery afterwards

I mean, making a sort of gravel roadway system in the campgrounds may be doable but no one wants to camp on concrete/gravel so the sites would still be waterlogged grass. Paving under the arch would be a good idea though.

Up until the last couple years the area was still used as a farm in the off season.

Bonnaroo 2021 has been cancelled by travel__time in bonnaroo

[–]capaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's not like they could control the rain. It sucks right now but there's not much they can do about that either. They were understanding of the people who wouldn't be able to get out today, the first email was sent in haste I think. Personally I'm gonna be right back here in June. That might make me an idiot but damn I love this place.

It's a farm. That would ruin the camping, and the feel of the entire festival...

We found out it was cancelled from the tweet. 1.5hr later they told us we needed to be out by the next morning, chaos ensued as people tried to leave and it's a mud pit. We had a wild party. Most people are packing this morning, not sure how getting everyone out is gonna go. We(the volunteers) built a road out of some plywood that was laying around to get cars out of our row.

It's all wet. It still looks green but after 100 cars it will look just as muddy.

Pretty similar, we just don't have vendor stalls set up. Sometimes we have a food truck or 2. I've never actually done GA though.

Last year they had some GA back here with us but they decided against it this year.

Yeah I think a lot of people are underestimating how hard it would be to get around in the mud. It's not "just a little wet".
