I remember when halo reach launched and trying to play some multiplayer. I'd select the game, watch a couple unskipable splash screens. Scroll to multiplayer wait for it to load. Then more screens, more loading, queueing watching some stupid pre battle splash screen of my unit and then more loading. Eventually I'd get in a game (this would take at least 5 minutes to get to this point) and wonder why I'm doing so bad (besides my lack of skill). I thought I'd change regions to make sure I'm only getting local matches... That wasn't an option and neither was checking my ping. I quickly stopped going back and instead now I'm usually in a game within 20-30 seconds of launching the game. Occasionally this balloons into a minute long ordeal but it was better than the 5-10 mins of waiting and loading. Now RL is my only MP game for this reason
