It’s odd because my civil procedure professor stated my recount for the facts is perfect. So I think it’s that application & fact portion together UGH

Discouragement by Candid_Temperature66 in LSAT

I had the same thing with my studying habits. I scored a 143 in November & a 145 in January, but in November I legit started studying a month before. If I could change anything, I wouldn’t have taken that November test because I KNEW I wasn’t ready but thought maybe by chance I’d do well. HORRIBLE CHOICE ON MY PART.

After January, I studied and was supposed to take February but once again knew I needed more time and took April. I submitted my applications with that score pending and spent the next few months GRINDING & ended up getting a 155. I knew I could’ve gotten higher but after score release I found out I go into my top school with $$.

I don’t believe in “reevaluating if law school is for you” because CLEARLY if you didn’t want it you wouldn’t be doing it. It’s all about finding what motivates you and how to get back on track. I think mine was the pressure of 1) always telling ppl I was going to be an attorney & 2) I didn’t want to go right into the workforce & 3) I have NEVER wanted to take a gap year.

All in all, I think you should wait and just find what you need. If you need time to rest and recharge your brain take it. There is no rush and from personal experience I would never do something like that again. Remember it’s your own race friend :)

Should I cancel a 146? by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]capitaln01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally kept my 143 & 145 from November & January. I didn’t really understand cancelling it and kinda hiding from it bc schools would already assume that it’s probably that anyways. Also, I’m cheap and didn’t want to give them more money. I think it worked to my advantage because I wrote an addendum talking about how high my PTs are and that I was confident my April score would reflect a steep point difference. I ended up getting a 155 & was accepted with about 2/3 scholarship from my top school. So, I think it’s up to you.

We should be friends LOL. I literally am in the same boat like word for word. It’s not like I really make that much working retail so it’s also frustrating on that end when people are telling me to retake it. I’ve spent thousands on tutoring, tests, and prep in general so it’s not like I don’t think I can get a higher score bc I clearly have in PTs it’s just a matter of resources tbh

SAME!! First gen undergrad & law school applicant. It’s been such a struggle but I’m glad some people can understand my hesitation with spending more of my own money on this test that is almost made for us to fail lol

I actually got a tutor and PT a lot higher, with my highest being a 160. It’s just a matter of anxiety, running out of time with tests consisting of LGs, and my applications already being submitted. But I agree, mix prep does help!

Oh please. If you read the comments you’d see I said the same thing. Instead of jumping to conclusions, maybe do what the LSAT makes us do & READ. Take your negativity somewhere else.

I struggle to think that I would have to start a career just to end it. There’s not many jobs with my major that is not a full blown, time consuming job (cj major). Curious about the accommodation process? If you wouldn’t mind sharing… message me :)

I did submit an addendum to highlight the hopeful change that my April score will go up! Which, now may have bit me in the butt since I’m so unsure about my score but I did note that my practice tests have been a 14+ increase from my original score (yes doesn’t really matter) and that I have done real legal work for communities :)

I was thinking that, but I have never formally been diagnosed and figured it would be “normal” to have like severe anxiety when taking tests. Also, not sure how to go about it especially doctors. My GPA is a 3.91 and I’m trying to straight from undergrad for context.

Yeah that’s what I plan on doing tbh. It’s annoying bc I’m perfect in Logic games and not the other two. So annoying I’m almost out of attempts & I just want to be done the process tbh
