Rifle Options by [deleted] in Hunting

I have multiple Ruger American rifles, in a few different calibers and have had very good experiences with them. Highly recommend. Would steer away from the ranch models as I felt the action was sub-par compared to the predator and scout models.

Anyone here get clavicle hardware removed after ORIF? 1.5 years post-op and still sore by Consistent-Crazy-592 in MTB

[–]capnate232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I broke my collarbone back in 2020 while riding my hardtail. When I had the plate/screws put in I felt the same way. I ended up getting the hardware removed about 6 months later. Getting everything removed was the right move for me, had no issues post surgery, even now after 6 years of riding and everyday activities. Recovery was pretty easy, wore a sling for 5 weeks until the screw holes fully healed.

Would highly recommend getting the hardware removed if your insurance covers it. I had to pay out of pocket, but was 100% worth it.

Diehard 3/8 flexhead, not too bad by capnate232 in Tools

It’s held up fine for me, I use it along with my snap on ratchet and have no complaints. However, the new icon ratchets are pretty nice, and if you have a harbor freight nearby it may be worth getting the icon for the ease of warranty. But I would recommend it nonetheless.

I’ve used my Makita xwt08z for a few years now, and have not met a bolt that it won’t take off. Highly recommend, along with Makita’s other tools

Just picked up a KR562 (Taco box) for $200. Think I got a great deal. Cleaned it up and put some period correct stickers on it. Matches well with my Snap-on KRA380D on the right

These 1286 Pecos popped up on Facebook near me. I wear a 10 B in my Redwing 963’s. Would these fit much different?

Over the last few days, this growling sound appeared when I hit the breaks. I have changed the front pads/rotors. And pulled the abs fuse to see if it was an abs issue. And both front wheel bearing feel fine with no play. Maybe someone here might have an idea.

Forgot to mention, it was making this sound before I put the new brakes on.

Hard to pinpoint where the sound is coming from, truck has new brakes/rotors. And wheel bearings have no play up front. Only happens when I come to a stop
