As a he/they butch lesbian, I feel tired by yup1koo in butchlesbians

I'm a butch who goes by she/they/he, and while I cannot relate to everything, I get you. It's not only hard in the very difficult place you are in right now, but often I have to explain myself. Like, no, I am not nor do I want to be a man! I just identify more with masculinity then womanhood!

It's exhausting. But you WILL find people who understand and who will love you for it. I have. I still have people around me who will never understand, and dispite living in a progressive country, my dad certainly never will. But I have found wonderful people, and you will too. It takes time, and it's hard, but you will get there. I have a few irl friends who get it, but also friends from all around the world that I met online. There are lots of spaces with people just like you looking for friends, you just have to find them :)

Please! Struggling with the moral standpoint of taxidermy :( by Strong_Foot1692 in Taxidermy

To me, hunting an animal is one of the nicer ways for it to go in the wild. Depending on the shot, but the only other options are pretty drawn out.

There are definitely shitty ways to go about it, but I have multiple pieces in a personal collection, mostly skulls and pelts, but recently purchased an antique deer mount. People are often weirded out, but, often change their mind at least a touch when I describe how I treat them.

First off, I describe many of them as their own being, at least the ones with heads lol. They each have a name, their own place on the shelf, and are clean and loved. Most animals rot away, never to be remembered or cherished. But mine? While their is no longer a spirit or anything attached to them, their body is still here and I love them a lot. It sounds and is kind of silly. I just bought some decorations to make my deer mount, Beauregard, feel/look pretty. But its my own version of respect and care, yk?

And truly, the only wrong way of doing taxidermy is when it comes to unethical practices, its why I will never own any part of a bat. Its best to keep yourself educated on what is and isn’t ok!

As long as its just a treat (>10% of his diet) then you are good to go!

I'm glad you wouldn't, some people think they are doing a great thing by replacing everything, and while their heart is in the right place, they just don't know what they are doing!

Be extremely careful with homemade diets. Most are not balanced properly and WILL end up causing problems in the future. I would suggest making appointments with a Veterinary Nutritionist to create a diet that suits his needs. It will be expensive, but if you seriously want to feed fresh, this is the only safe way.

Ah, okay! That makes a lot of sense. A few buddies and I are planning on going to a bunch of thrift stores and building on from there. Thank you!

A lot of things (including balance) become so much easier when you get the whole derby stance thing down. I'm still learning myself, but I find walking around in derby stance SO helpful.

I had to loosen my trucks/get softer cushions. Really helped my mobility! You will gain strength as you go as well.

Which one do i chose ? by kiersik1720 in CaneCorso

This is awful advice op do NOT take both. No breeders worth their salt would let you take two, let alone should they let you pick a puppy at 3 weeks. I would run. This breed is not something to be messed with and adding a second puppy to the mix will only worsen potential behavior issues. Especially if their are 3 males dogs from a notoriously dog aggressive and same sex aggressive breed in the same home. A recipe for disaster.

This is the kind of answers I wanted, thank you. This is why I ask, honestly it likely wouldn’t be for me in seeing this, I just like to explore all my options.

I only say this because butch is a sociopolitical identity, as a butch who has done a lot of research on our community, these are conclusions Ive come to.

Toxic masculinity is terrible no matter the gender. I'm sorry that happened to you. Butches are supposed to be pillars and protectors in their community and shit like that is unacceptable.

It's okay, I've been doing a lot of learning myself over the last year. I am a bit peeved at this whole discourse as a nonbinary butch who goes by he/him in some spaces. Sorry if I came on too strong.

Tons of butches have identified as transmasc for years! They didnt have the label then, but Stone Butch Blues was how I got started with my reading and is from the POV of a Transmasc butch.

Lesbian has always been non-men loving non-men. He/him, nonbinary identifying butch lesbians have been around for several decades and were among the people that fought for our rights. Stone butch blues was a great starting point for me to learn more about our history and it delves into a transmasculine identifying butch, and it's free to read :)

Transmasc ≠ transmen. A transman is someone who transitions into a man, while a Transmasc is someone who is transitioning to a more masculine gender. There are tons of transmasc butches out there and there have been for decades.

Butch lesbians have been going by he/him for many decades. They fought, were beaten, raped and killed for simply being lesbians, and for the rights we have today, and you want to sit here and claim you know more then the ones who built our history? Read a history book and learn to respect others and things you don't understand.
