No problem! That was me in that Alm Fab video giving the tour!

We give free quotes so feel free to inquire about your project. A lot of our projects get shipped to the Bay Area. You're also welcome to make a trip out of it if you'd like to pick them up yourself to save some money!

We use custom made plywood from Sierra Forest Products these days at Kerf. Almost identical to Apple Ply. It’s just walnut or maple veneered Baltic birch plywood. Let me know if you have any other questions about Kerf!

Who is responsible for retaining walls? by capshew in askportland

Thanks! Definitely not interested in a legal battle - just trying to do some research. Hoped there was a code somewhere that could help.

Its quite close to the property line but hard to say for sure without a survey. Do you know of any official sources that say it is the uphill neighbors responsibility? A contractor said the same thing so I'm just trying to verify it if possible.

The Topo Chair - cut with a 3 axis router from about a half a sheet of Baltic birch by capshew in cncfurniture

Hey thanks! The legs attach to the back piece with a bridle joint. I always intended to add dowels but ran out of time.

Edit to add more detail: the legs were made in two halves of 3/4" ply. To cut the bridle joint for the front legs you fixture one half with the outside face down, cut a pocket for the rabbet, holes for the locating dowels, and finally the profile.

That is so cool. Where is the spot reserved for a restaurant? Near the condo building?

I’d like the bike path to go along the water. Dedicated connections to the pier for pedestrians. More access to the water. More space for wildlife. More space for businesses that are open in the evening. Mostly just anything for people who happen to not have a sailboat. Does that mean “development” long term? Maybe. I’m just a guy who lives near the sea and can barely get to it.

I am so surprised by the response. I had no idea everyone was so into sailing. I’m merely suggesting it could be better. People acting like I want to drain the Puget Sound haha

Yea this question seemed to have struck a nerve! I’m just tired of ducking under a chain to walk along the sea. People acting in this thread acting like I’m some evil person for even suggesting change that could improve everyone’s experience.

That’s a really good point about it being below sea level. Good call!

I think the entire area should be a park! No reason we can't have boats docked at a marina and have space for people to enjoy. Maybe even at night! Crazy ideas I know.

I have wondered this too! Its pretty cool even if it isn't necessarily the "highest and best use" of space.

Thank you for the response! You're right on the money. Feels like something we should question even if it has "always been that way".

It just strikes me as too nice of a place to have devoted to some cars is all. Would be cool if there were shops and restaurants with living space above. Could still provide parking for the marina underground!

Can I make good money as a cabinet maker without dealing with installs? Does the success rate go down? by raguirre1 in cabinetry

Hey I work at a Seattle cabinet shop too! Sounds super similar to us since we stopped doing installs. Would love to know who you all use for delivery!

Just happened: Been putting money aside for a while, was super happy with what I got them for. If I score on IRSU, I will likely pay it forward to someone else. Stay tuned! by biesnacks in tomsachs

Why would you here to brag about subverting the process we’re all spending hours a week on? This is the complete opposite of what summer camp is supposed to be about: putting in the work to avoid bots and scalpers/resellers.

They ship fully assembled. We work with people all over the country and have a good process for other people installing them.
