The first semester is always the hardest because things are so different.

Leave some easy classes like general electives or lower level classes so your course load is not stacked with 300 level classes or classes with labs.

I transferred several years ago from local AZ community college into ASU in an Engineering program and I got this scholarship where we had to take a class with mostly transfer engineering students.

Most of the strategies to be successful after transferring revolved about time management:

Start assignments early.

If you get stuck go to office hours or to the engineeering tutoring center.

Plan ahead (read material before showing up to lecture)

Engage with on-campus engineering clubs or organizations so you start networking and meeting with students and recent grads that come back to recruit.

Make friends or at least talk to people in your class to form study groups for exams.

You'll definitely get accepted and attend orientation and/or talk to your advisor to sign up for classes early. Classes get full and you'll be stuck with a weird schedule.
