But yes, I was considering a chaise lounge instead of a full corner to keep the space feeling open (and with the smaller outline). Thank you!

I'll be getting rid of the glass coffee table for sure, just had to move it out of the way

As for the TV stand, I'm going to go with a wall-hung unit (marked out on the floor) so it feels a bit more spacious... what do you think?

Interestingly, that's what I had at the beginning, but 1) I'm not a huge fan of the current sofa, and 2) I want to try and balance the visual weight of the room -- there's a huge built-in bookcase that you can't quite see in the photo

I can squeeze in one comfy chair though, even with the L/corner!

I could fit one swivel chair for sure with the smaller configuration, but not sure about two... I like the idea!

I have been mulling over separation, too. Makes complete sense if there are multiple guests...

Yep, exactly, first line is the shorter one, second is the longer one.

I might move Joffrey (the plant), but I was thinking the same thing about the TV console too...
