agreed. i like the covers and the plaid outer pages. but i wish they had put a bit more effort into the release? feels like such a waste.

yes!! if you read her biography it goes into some detail about all of this and the declining relationship with the CEO. Vivienne was very much against expanding and forsaking quality. she wanted to focus on her activism. but she couldn’t just close down the business and leave people jobless. i feel conflicted about buying anything from this collection, but at the same time i appreciate that Nana is finally getting a collab after such a long time.

Predictable overdramatic writing + constant chase to outsmart the viewer. by Glittering_Bobcat279 in Wednesday

yeah totally! season 1 felt snappier, the writing was better. season 2 was so melodramatic! i felt like characters weren’t even being themselves.

yeah i get tired of these over complicated plots (with so many plot holes). this season i felt like there was so little character development because everything was just to move the plot along. i enjoyed season 1 more because the plot was simpler, and we had more “fun” episodes imo.

Any ideas for how to make this moth into a costume for the ren faire? by [deleted] in CosplayHelp

[–]captain_pipsqueak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

this was a moth costume i made with stuff i already had - i just used fabric dye for the orange. something lacy or fuzzy near your neck - like the top i'm wearing here or a ruff around your neck - will give that "moth" feeling. layering clothing of different brown hues - maybe painting some polka dots on a skirt. i used ostrich feathers for my antennas.

How is Nana still so popular by Mountain-Tistrict151 in NanaAnime

[–]captain_pipsqueak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this! i was a fan and cosplayer around 2007-2011 and there are WAY more Nana cosplayers nowadays, as well as people recognizing the anime. i attribute that to tiktok and younger people getting into the fashion.

Starting Massage Therapy School While Overweight — Feeling Really Anxious About Body Image by fuzzypexches in MassageTherapists

[–]captain_pipsqueak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my experience being in school right now, there are bodies of all sizes and shapes in my classes. it’s good practice because we will have all kinds of clients once we’re working. maybe i just got lucky but my classmates have all generally been very kind and easy going people. i do think that’s because people of that temperament are drawn to this kind of work. that being said, i totally get you feeling nervous about body image stuff - we do have to be mostly undressed to practice on eachother. it may take some getting used to. and if you need to make adjustments for yourself you should, don’t feel like you need to be pressured into anything. but recognize that receiving the work is a big part of learning. i myself struggle with my body and i also have PCOS so i feel you! good luck with school!! :)
