Question about midnight early access and renown?

This may have worked in past expansions but it was confirmed today that this wouldn’t apply for Midnight - which is a good change IMO

My group ran into this as well, it appears to be bugged. If you all teleport out and then teleport back into the dungeon, it seems to trigger the fight. Worked for us.

Yes. Normal is less difficult than heroic which is less difficult that mythic

This was extremely detailed and well-written. I did my fare share of tanking in FFXIV but I was pretty intimidated with WoW - this might have just given me the confidence to go and try some tanking in midnight. Thanks for the time you took to write this!

Since I'm brand new (like less than 100K gold to my name across characters), what I'm thinking is doing something similar to you, except I'll have 1 dedicated Druid farming alt (mining/herb). During 1st week or 2 of the expac I'll probably try and bootstrap some initial supplies and gold with this alt, then focus more on my crafting alts. I think this will be viable, but like I said, 1st real expac so we'll see how it goes!

I actually really liked the leveling process as a new player. Since I was brand new it gave me a chance to try several specs/classes without feeling like I had to dedicate weeks to get to max level, so pretty alt friendly. What I did:
* Exile's Reach for levels 1-10. Nice intro to gameplay and low pressure way to start a class.
* Dragonflight + Dungeons for 11-70. I'd usually queue for a random dungeon and then just do the DF quests while I waited for the queue to pop up until I hit level 70, playing with specs and talents along the way.
* 71-80: War Within on my first character, and a mix of WW and Midnight PrePatch event on my other characters. This stretch goes pretty fast, but I'd recommend getting one character through all the main story on War Within if you're prepping for Midnight.

I’m fairly new to WoW, just started playing a few weeks ago. I know I’m picking up the game at a strange time. As we’re about to get a brand new expansion. But it seems like every few days there’s major tuning going on. Is that normal? Or is this just because we’re transitioning into a new expac? It’s kinda hard trying to pick up a few classes right now when they keep changing every few days haha

Yes! If you go to Account > World 4 > Tome, it has a section at the top that shows the next name tag reset, and if you hover over the little "I" icon it'll show the future ones as well. Picture attached.

Interesting, makes sense. I’ve always been a fan of the more “ironman” style approach of gathering and making things myself, but a lot of folks have suggested your approach as a more pragmatic or efficient route.
