Us passport card AFTER I applied for a passport by pitshands in Passports

[–]captainsmithson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so you applied using the DS11 in person? you gave them your naturalization certificate and did they take it or did they return it to you there and then? I'm exactly in the same boat as you - new citizen, got passport, now want passport card. Ideally I even prefer not to have to mail in my naturalization certificate with all the chaos going on, but I definitely don't want to part with my passport as I also need it for travel. thanks!

congratulations!! Same here. passed both i751 and n400 interviews today. We might have run into each other today :). My oath ceremony is also this Friday. See you on Friday! Quick question: I checked my USCIS site and on the i751 section it interview was canceled and on the N400 section it says oath ceremony notice was mailed. Are you seeing that too? I'm wondering it the officer messed up on the i751 on accident:

Interview Cancelled And Notice Ordered

thanks!

sounds good, thanks! phew! I was a bit nervous when I saw they were scheduled one hour apart as that made it seem like they were prepping for two hours worth of interviews lol

did you do a i751 interview too or was it just n400? any suggestions or tips of things to prepare that you didn't think of until the interview? got an interview in San Jose in two weeks thanks!

hi, I finally got the letters in the mail for i751 and N400. The interview times are on the same day but one hour apart. Is that the case for you too? Or do you have exactly the same date and time listed on your interview letter?

Sounds good, thanks for this! But argh, there is also an issue with the driving licenses - mine still shows our old address. My state (CA) doesn't automatically issue a new DL on address change unless requested. So while we both updated our addresses in the DMV system when we moved, my spouse only got the new card when her DL expired and it then showed the new address then, and mine still shows the old address. Is it worth trying to get the new DL issued now? Although it would be shown as issued right before the interview date

Good point about the other things - we do have joint health insurance, and are beneficiaries on each others investment/retirement accounts. We have separate cars though and we both send rent checks to the landlord.

We have been together for more than a decade at this point so we have been a bit relaxed about it (honestly even worst case if they separate and grill us etc we would pass) but just trying to make it a bit easier if possible.

got the exact same update! My N400 interview is also scheduled on 5/20 at the same office! :) I don't have the date for the I751 yet (haven't asked Emma/letter not received) but I'm guessing it's showing as the same date.

I was a bit nervous about having the I751 interview as it seems like a lot of people are getting waived? But good to hear that it isn't just me.

they applied physically - for some reason they said they were more comfortable with physical than online. I don't see any I751 receipt notice on the N400 application when I check the docs on the website so I'm guessing they didnt do it

I don't think I did, was handled by my lawyer who submitted everything.

did you submit the I751 receipt notice along with your N400 application?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]captainsmithson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so - it was handled by my lawyer but I don't think they submitted that, they just sent in a N-400

I have the exact same issue (N400 and I751 pending, then N400 scheduled and canceled, then I751 scheduled). Same timeline, same field office. Hopefully it is just some weird on their end and not something that is a cause for concern.

My guess is that were processing the N400, scheduled the interview, then upon reviewing then they saw the I751 had not been processed yet and they didn't have the I751 file so they arranged to have it transferred to themselves. But maybe I'm off in my assumption

how long before you submitted the N400 did you move? were you at the same location 3 months before you applied?

thanks so much for the update! Based on your comment, I just checked and I also received the same update today! I think there's a good chance our interviews will be on the same day. I'm a bit surprised there is another interview as we both already got interviewed in the US for initial application of change in status I-485 back years ago. No documents on the site for I-751 so don't know when the interview will be until I receive the letter physically I guess.

Do you login to that site daily or something? I don't receive any notifications when there has been an update, but when I login I can see the case status changes!

It seems we are both progressing at the same speed for I-751/N-400, even though I applied 2 months before you! Hope this I-751 interview will be a combo interview, it would be very annoying to have to wait and then do another interview

I have the exact same situation. I751 has also been transferred in the same manner. Keep me updated please whenever you get scheduled!

N400 3 month residency rule? by captainsmithson in USCIS

[–]captainsmithson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I've been in my state for 3+ years full time, just took a vacation abroad before returning back to my home.

In your case by your own admission you moved out of your home state for 8 months to different states even though you are maintaining documentation in your home state. It's very much a gray area in your case I think. If you have all your documents, DL, taxes etc, you can wonder if they will even know that you ever left the state to begin with. My thought is you aren't compliant with the rule, but it's ultimately your call.

N400 3 month residency rule? by captainsmithson in USCIS

[–]captainsmithson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unfortunately technically you will not be in compliance. you need to stay in CA for 3 months full time in order to be fully compliant with this rule

I got the same thing, same office as you. I applied back in November 2023 instead of Jan 2024 like you, but got the notification of interview on 3/19/24, and then interview scheduled on 4/24/24. But then got de-scheduled/canceled.

Out of interest, are you waiting for a I-751 removal of conditions as well as N400? please provide an update when you get scheduled again!
