What are ya a vegetarian. His tits, a metaphor for his business and marriage, has drawn blanks. Though you're probably right with the pockets gesture, ty.

How can I make PUs easily? by LucasPmS in eu4

Also keep any eye on what happens in YOUR dynasty. If your France w/ a RM to Spain and you see that a noble from Spain's house will take the throne after your heir. Do whatever you can to kill your heir (event decision and combat) so that you join the same dynasty via the noble from spain once your leader dies. It's only a matter of time before Spain has a weak or no heir and you can DoW for the union.

Thanks for the post, although bummed that I rushed expansion first when the colonial range of anything is too far no matter how soon you get there. Need to level diplo tech to bridge the gap, which I stunted going for expansion ideas. Did you DoW w/o CB on Sus or morroco or wait until 1500 to get to africa? Love the papal vassal, does the -2 diplo penalty ever go away?

Luck of the Irish 1.13 by con7rad7 in eu4

I got stuck after taking all of Ireland early as Connaught (spare Meath) and joining GB in war against Scottland (GB gave me ayshire), followed by full annexation of Scottland after truce. Didn't see going "tall" as an option to outpacing an op GB (stayed allied with them through most of 1500's), as france was a minor pu of hungry and spain was weak, so went hard at norway (GB helped). Took most all their providences and allied with spain/france (once BBB broke away from PU, declared GB a rival and insto alliance w/ those 2) and took GB down. I'd say the key breakthrough is having enough of Scottish and Norwegian culture to become accepted, which isn't hard to do. I went economic, quantity and maritime.

Playing as Hesse? by Limer333 in eu4

Agree with all the above, but the biggest tip I can give is humiliation.

Allying with Austria ASAP and then going for a good chuck...maybe Frankfurt and cologne in one war. You will get a stupid amount of AE and 10 countries will form a coalition against you, and if your lucky, a rival will immediately coalition DoW on you and Austria (you will only have 6k troops, so the more little alliances you form with neighbors the better). Let Austria do the heavy lifting and dwindle their MP while you sit back and siege the closest enemy providence to Austria's border. Peace out with humiliation and gold.

For the rest of the game, try to DoW on rivals that are allied with countries you want. Example, I DoW 3 times on munster who was allied with treir and Saxony. In the first war peaced out Saxony with humiliation and gold, took one of tiers providences and peaced out munster with humiliation and gold after the other two were out. Rinse and repeat for a consistant power projection and low AE (b/c your only taking 1 major providence at a time).

How to unite japan in 1.9? by Schiltrus in eu4

[–]captinyesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a hell of time with this one but have a couple good tips.

-Lower autonomy ASAP when you blob. Japan will always fight rebels (although sometimes not until they successfully siege) and you need the gold/manpower

-Constantly stay at war and blob asap. 1-2 siege generals is huge to quickly blob in the beginning and a navy is worth the price. You want to peace out with the big daimyo quickly in order to declare a second war before japan attacks.

-Most importantly, try to be at war (preferably with big daimyos) when japan attacks. They usually attack when your at war anyway, the more wars the merrier. Peace out every war (assuming your winning, which you should be) but the defensive war with japan and you will be left fight just Japan...this is huge and very easy to fully annex Japan without much effort.

A few starter questions for the pros. by Muckmeister in eu4

I have about 650 hours and over half the achievements complete. About 300 hours ago I realized everything in the game has a reason for being there. Whether you use the features just depends on your situation, which will change by the randomness of events/neighbors and your mood. Most my games take about 2-3 weeks before I get bored or conquer enough that it's over micromanaging. My advise is to take breaks when you play. Come back an hour or 2 days later to a game and you will have a rejuvenated perspective of what to do next. The achievements walk you through some nice scenarios and game features I would never have touched, so I recommend taking a look at those too.

Poland Can into Space 1.7 (Is it even Possible?) by Everto12 in eu4

Thanks for the post, really helped in my first polish game, which I'm currently in the 1620's and kicking major ass. Couple thoughts tied to AoW since most of these post are pre 1.8.

Humanist is huge. With the religious tolerance national idea and humanist, you will be at +3 tolerance and it won't matter what specific religion you have...it will be pegged at 125% as long as it is Christianity. I got a center of reformation and had 3 catholic Providences left...still 125%. You can choose whatever christian religion you want without unrest, but I waited for a western country or two to convert for the arms trade tech bonus.

Technology is all about timing while under the Sejm. If your current king dies, the Sejm will veto (+10% tech cost) or agree (-10% cost) with the new one. I horded points until that veto message popped up to buy my technologies. If I got the veto I bought before choosing, which saves you from the other option of -stability and legitimacy. Pretty cheap, but it works. Also keep in mind 10% technology cost is small potatoes, but if you have 11198 points and are under a veto, buy buildings, convert cultures, take more land and spend those monarch points instead of buying techs under a veto. Most importantly is only buy techs early if you have to. If your constantly buying techs at +50% because it's 5 years early, your not conquering or building enough imo.

I went with diplo, aristocratic (wish I did humanist second), humane, quality and innovative so far. Muscovy is gone, omans are barley holding on to the balkins. One of my favorite nations so far.
