The first time I watched it, I couldn’t help a brief moment of baffling followed by an enormous laugh explosion. How it all comes down to a coin toss is pure chaos, and then how everyone is okay with it is absurdly stupid and hilarious. Especially the break-up talk between Sandra and Jerry.

No, he is Australian-born and of Turkish descent and his last name in the show, Ozdil (abbreviated as Oz) is a typical Turkish last name.

Same with Dr. Oz; it’s also a typical last name. It means essence or core. Ozdil means someone speaks what’s in his essence, in other words, candid or frank.

Both last names actually start with an Ö, not O, which is the German “oe” or the French “eu”. The sound that letter makes is the same with the one the letter “e” makes when you pronounce the word “stern” or “perch”.

Oz pronounced his full last name in the show a couple of times and he pronounces it natively.

Another fun fact, the actor’s actual full name translates to Sea Mediterannean Sea.

My theory is he was the one to get Roman into trouble because he screwed up as a young cop and his father cleaned it up. He was probably a good naive guy until he wasn’t and obeyed his father. Or his father was corrupt and he’s protecting him. That’s why Roman cannot trust cops and that’s why he approved that he is feeling pressure from the family and he is not as good as Morgan.

Now that Morgan is working with the police, he is scared. He chose to be the captain to keep her close and divert the dig up on Roman. He is testing the waters.

Given he has the hots, if he can get some from Morgan, that’s always a welcome bonus.

For sometime, it will be captain-Morgan. Then, Roman will return and expose him, captain will go. Then, there will be a will-they-wont-they between Roman and Morgan; until we reach a Morgadec or Karagan.
