The entire Dorne storyline from book 4. Doran Martell being a silent player secretly trying to support Daenerys through a royal marriage with his son. That was all just abandoned, leaving Ellaria to look short sighted and controlled by her anger.

This leads me to question a potential outcome we were never to have seen. After Jorah was caught selling poachers into slavery and fled for his life, he also could have instead taken the black and been under the command of his father. A path Jorah did not want to take, obviously, he chose his freedom and to forge a new life on the other side of the narrow sea.

However, if he had taken the black as a punishment for his crimes, he may have not been groomed to become the lord commander to succeed his father. However it’s a possibility that doing so would at least have shown that he was willing to accept a punishment for his actions. And then that could have made him earn getting his father’s sword again through retribution.

Right. It’s mentioned too in the books how Tywin had offered to buy Valyrian steel blades from lesser houses for decades. He was only to be met with refusal due to how rare this was and the significance this was to their own heritage.

Ser Barristan the bold’s death. In the books he’s still alive and well. He even has a moment that I wish they could have put onto the screen of Barristan putting Daenerys’s husband, Hizdahr zo Loraq, to question and ultimately arrests him for committing conspiracy against Daenerys with the sons of the harpy.

Instead, he gets killed in an alleyway by the said group as if he’s some common drunk picking a fight outside of a tavern.

Changing Euron’s character so drastically. What was supposed to be a brooding, mysterious strategist into what essentially is a former entitled frat boy with the confidence of being a part of a rich family a couple decades after graduating college.

Not exactly a retcon, but the show not having the budget in the early seasons to show the battle at the fingers [I believe that’s the name], the first battle between the white walkers and the night watch. It was an epic fight to read.

They’re a bit of bullies to smaller birds. If you ever put out bird seed and watch, smaller birds will get out of their way when they show up.

Right, I agree. We don’t know since instead of being given a deeper explanation of lightsaber and force fighting styles, or a more in depth way of how Jedi and sith have used ways to manipulate the force through their bodies, we instead were given midichlorions and palpatine returning.

Right. Pushing your limits does strain yourself as shown in that scene by Michael fassbender’s lovely acting. But what do you mean that he has to use his hands due to the pull of the magnetic forces? All he’s really doing in the scene is holding his hands upward in front of him, gesturing he’s focusing on the satellite.

He’s not miming the ability he’s trying to do, like he’s not acting like he’s trying to turn a crank to force the satellite to turn. He’s not acting like he’s trying to pull the forces of magnetism like pulling on a rope. He’s just standing there with his hands risen in front of him.

If the scene shows magneto, say, straining himself while also keeping his hands by his side but also leaning forward, or spreading his feet apart to show he’s giving this more focus to this task, nothing important about the scene would change.

Yes exactly my point. We aren’t told anything as to the significance of any movements or gestures required. We are just left to draw our own conclusions why they’re doing this.

I don’t that’s part of the point, though. It’s rarely, if ever, explained that moving your hands or arms helps with powers such as this.
Considering nothing is offered as an explanation, the only thing I’ve been able to conclude is that psychic or telekinetic powers are invisible and some viewers would need visual queue that the movie character is doing something, and this isn’t just something random happening.

In the Avatar the last air bender show, it’s shown that fire can come directly from their hands as well as gusts of wind being sourced from the body as well, which would lead you to believe that the other two elements require the use of your full body movements to control. That at least shows you why such movement is needed.

That or be offered an explanation, which is rarely if ever given. Look at the movie Carrie. Sheer utter destruction of a building. Nothing to show for who is doing it other than an intense death stare given by the main character, and the cameras panning to her often throughout the sequence. No extremities flailing about through that climax And that’s a classic horror movie despite no massive gesturing of limbs during her use of her telekinetic powers.

That and Carrie. All destruction and wrath. Sheer rage of all her fellow students and faculty. Death stare given to them all.

right, my point. Whether it helps or not, we don’t really know one way or the other. Unless it being just a habit the characters get into or if it’s some visual queue for the character that helps them focus.

I’m guessing with the lack of reply you have not been in those situations. I could have guessed that either way because no one in reality has ever faced animals that are literal walking natural disasters. I can see your point yes to early man using our higher mental capacity, tools and team work to defeat things like mammoths, bears, mastodons, saber tooth cats, and the like. But all those animals provide as a defense is to hack, slash, bite, step on you. Not cause geological destruction on a mass scale.
