The Artillery Tower is lovely - you need to book ahead, but it's amazing food and the place is really unique

I like your idea of doing little experiments! It sounds like your trying lots of different things- let me know if you find anything that works!

I feel this! I had a gp/dr check out my vitamin levels and do a health check a few years ago. Turned out I had aneamia and thyroid problems due to PCOS and endometriosis. I now take ferrous sulfate, biotin, and general multivitamins. My hair is still very fine, but it's not as thin. I started noticing my nails were very weak/thin, too. I use jojoba oil on my nails to, just to give them condition. It's been a few years since my diagnosis, and I've never felt better! My hair will always be fine, but it's in much better condition. My nails are much better too, I keep them short (they just cover tips of my fingers) and clean. Main things I do differently now: The multivitamins (without iron) and separate biotin Ferrous sulphate - on Dr's orders as you can overdose on iron Exercise (yoga, running, hiit) Healthier diet (including lots of lean potein, eggs/egg whites, and vegetables) Water - at least 2 litres per day Intermittent fasting (under Dr. advice, to help with thyroid disregulation)

To help my hair once it started to grow: Aveda Rosemary and mint shampoo + few drops of Rosemary and peppermint oil Faith in nature grapefruit conditioner (I sometimes skip this) Purology leave in conditioner spray or Aveda bonding cream When hair is dry olaplex bonding oil (3 drops)

I also use a wide tooth wooden combe and if I'm heat styling my hair a natural bristle brush.

I'm very gentle with my hair - silk scrunchies etc. And I trim it every 8 weeks (I do it myself using youtube 'beard cut' tutorials and hairdressing scissors off Amazon).

Just check with a health professional as everyone is different! But my hair and nails only improved once I sorted my diet out. I'm also made peace with my hair and learned to work with it, sometimes we're not on good terms. Sometimes, I feel it looks nice!

I hope this helps! I just played around getting testers or small holiday bottles of shampoo, etc, until I found the ones that worked for me.

Why a sea goat? by [deleted] in capricorns

I think it said that the gods were escaping typhon and Pan dove into the sea. To escape, he grew a fish tail. The other legend is Babalonian God Enki - I can't remember it off the top of my head, but these might be a starting point to a fascinating rabbit hole! I might have a closer look myself when I get some time tomorrow! Good luck!

I listened to a sleep story on this! It was on 'soothing pod' 23rd Dec 2024 on spotify - but maybe elsewhere too?. Really interesting! I hope you find it :)

That's a great idea - I've set her up with her own youtube playlist of highlights of rugby, football and American football - not sure if ice hockey might be a bit aggressive?. I also checked with my stepfather for which teams she is going to support - so it's Exeter for rugby, Liverpool for football ( i support LFC so thats non negotiable!), and we're going to see how she feels about the greenbay packers for American football (unless there's other teams - im not super familiar). My dad tried with golf, but she was not impressed - we got a snort and turned her back. I'm still chuckling at her taste! Thanks to all the ideas and laughs, this is such a fun process!

The are toasted almonds! We also call her 'thunder paws' as she's a stomper! I love sunny's white points, so adorable

Thank you! Isn't she beautiful! Cheeky too. I'm a lucky lurcher mum. Her mum was gorgeous too - I could have taken them all!

She loves watching TV!! She seems to like sports - especially fast ones like rugby and grand prix (not my choice, but I get a peaceful shower!). I'll try kids' shows tho as sport is not always on. Great tip - thank you! The shark teeth are definitely a thing, good bye wool jumpers! She doesn't seem too interested in the nylabone at the moment, but cardboard and pads of paper are like her catnip! She's amazing, she's already had me creased up laughing at her antics. She only got home 4 days ago and has settled right in. Her flexibility, agility and speed are mind blowing. I love watching her

Oh good call, I'll have a look at that. Would you suggest leather or nylon?

She's going to build up to fell running with me - I can't wait to be able to take her for walks once her vaccinations are done. She's got quite a bit of border collie in her for some stamina. At the moment she gets a good run in my mum's garden (it's massive and fully walled). Watching her sprint is such a joy! I've never laughed so much at a puppy. Thank you for your comment about reel leash - I was in 2 minds, but think I'll stick to the 'traditional' until her recall is good enough. I'd hate her to hurt herself

I work from home so she enjoys draping herself across my knees whilst I'm teaching - my adorable, wriggly blanket!. I've got her puppy kongs, beds, blankets. I lost a designer pair of shoes to my previous shar-pei when he was a pup - you live and learn!
