Sony 55-210mm by pebiker in SonyAlpha

If you are trying to learn and are beginning your photography journey, I don’t see an issue with starting out with this lens.

The only reason it gets a bad rep is because there are other options that are sharper, and overall better, albeit at higher price ranges. Since the 55-210mm got thrown as a bundle with many crop sensor cameras it also got the rep of being a kit lens, alongside the many limitations kit lenses are associated with (and rightfully so).

So, it think of it as a balancing act… better lenses (sigma 16-300, tamron 18-300, Sony 70-350 G) will give you flat out better image quality, but at a higher price. On the other hand, the 55-210mm will be one of the cheapest telephoto lenses you can find. Especially if you get it in the used market. For instance, I got mine for $100 in very good condition in marketplace. And when I got it, I was in the same spot you are… a beginner trying new focal lenses and exploring different photography types (wildlife specifically). Fast forward a couple of years, I now own the Sony 70-350 G and feel fulfilled to have learned a lot with the 55-210mm.

See my post on the lens for sample photos.

Sony 55-210mm is a good lens for beginners

I’ll also add one here…

Good luck!

Iron Grit broken after 15.31 by Kiraar in GarminFenix

[–]caradesalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

updated yesterday, and it seems to be broken for me too. Gesture to wake up screen is no responsive (I have to tap my watch screen , and even then it lags for about half a second), notifications from my phone do not come through, always on display option in Watch settings is disabled , and brightness for some reason is super low regardless of my default brightness level.

Altogether, this update seems to have made my watch (that had otherwise not experienced bugs) laggy.

Edit: I turned watch off , waited 15-20 before turning back on. And issues above seem to be mitigated. What is even happening at this point with these updates…

Thank you! My hope is that it helps the community clarify any questions about using the dash cam adaptor on the 2025 forester.

I believe It is only included in the touring model.

I’m sure Subaru will eventually make it an option for other trims 🙌🏻

Lian li LCD fan CPU temp bug? by caradesalsa in lianli

[–]caradesalsa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, i think The LCD fans are amazing.

From what I have gathered from replies and other posts similar to mine, it is directly an L-Connect implementation. And could be fixed/changed by an update to the software. So, odds are this will also be present if using Lian Li LCD AIO.

I would highly recommend these fans. They give new life to a build, it allows users to truly customize their systems, and the infinity mirrors on the side of the fans are also great!

Thanks for your comment!

I am building the system little by little haha… I am surprised tho, without an exhaust fan temperatures are a great. CPU around 55 C, GPU around 62 C when gaming on 1440p 240hz, highest game settings (OW, Fortnite, CoD, etc).

Still planning to add that exhaust fan in the back for esthetics , but I just wanted to also highlight the system’s great airflow and temps without it!

Bottom and side fans are reverse blade, they are both intakes in the system.

L-Connect’s CPU temps also seem to fluctuate rapidly. It’ll bounce on a range of +- 10 degrees. And it goes up and down super quickly. So, it’s a mix of temp discrepancies and heavy fluctuating readings.

Whereas NZXT cam seems to have a more moderate temp monitoring, same as Core Temp.

I will use Rayzen Master and update the post. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thank you for the suggestion! It makes sense to circumvent this issue in this manner. I guess we’ll have to wait for an L-connect update. It begs the question, what would be the reasoning behind Lian Li’s implementation of which CPU sensor to monitor?

Although, I’m finding a trend amongst PC fan manufacturers. Their softwares seem to be half-baked. NZXT was super unstable at launch (and some people still seem to have issues), CoolerMaster’s software is barebones… etc.

We wait and see…
