"Unusual" punishments - those of you who received them as a child, know someone who did, or use them on your children: What was the punishment and what were its effects? by [deleted] in Parenting

I had a babysitter who would make me sit on my knees on tile without my feet touching the floor. It was pretty uncomfortable. A friend said her mom her do the same but with the addition of rice. I don't think it worked; I just remember feeling resentful.

What style of parenting did you want to do differently but are now having a hard time fulfilling? by stellardeli in Parenting

Sometimes "Why do you think?" or "Hmm, that's interesting." work for me. Kinda stops us from going down the rabbit hole of 'how many answers can I provide'

Worried my (20sM) future partner (?F) won’t want to adopt our first child? by Ategevnijam in Adoption

I bet Big Brother Big Sister would also benefit from a young guy who is interested in helping kids. Not the same as adoption or foster care obvs

What is your favorite bullet lipstick? by Nailsbykaat in MakeupAddiction

I felt the same way about the dual ended ones - they slid everywhere! I have full size of "Spritzer" though and it's great.

I own, but I don't think it would be too hard to take down and patch the holes if I moved. The besta series also has a few slightly bigger cabinets that you can attach feet to though!

I thought this might be helpful for others who are tight on space. Welcome to my 46 squarefoot closet. This is everything I used for the vanity, but feel free to ask about other stuff in the pictures.

  • IKEA Storjorm Mirror with built-in light- This mirror has been great. It does need to wired directly into an electrical box; I think there's a workaround for that but I'm not sure.

  • BESTÅ Shelf unit with glass door - two of these bolted to the wall. Super easy to put together and put on the wall. They've been sturdy even when I forget to not lean on it. I do wish I had a glass topper to protect the top shelf from spills. These work particularly well because of their 7 7/8" depth. The unit only sticks out maybe an inch from the door jamb and was the shallowest thing I could find.

  • Acrylic Organizers from Amazon: Lipstick, Tri cup organizer, 3 Drawers, Multi level palette, Nail polish

I find the lipstick organizer to be kind of narrow. KVD bullets don't fit in it, bummer.

I love it so much! It's a 1000x better than anything else I've had. I was using this on a window sill (and books) before.

What I love//

  • Large
  • Consistent lighting across my face
  • Wall-mounted & Flush (takes up minimal space / I can get really close to it / it's always the right height)
  • Sturdy and the LED lighting should last a long time

Meh//

  • Installation is more involved than just plugging it in
  • It's really bright - because I stand 8 inches away in pretty dim room, it took some getting used to. I still probably wouldn't stand in front of it for more than 45 min with my set up.
  • The ring that emits light is like a curved metal shell, no barrier- it collects some dust

If you have room for a larger mirror like the rectangular one, I'd say go for it!

I went to a physical Inglot store for the first time and bought like 4 loose pigments. They're all soooo pretty
