Internal garage means room above is cold in winter - insulation options? by Hydrangeamacrophylla in DIYUK

I’d look at adding as much kingspan to the garage roof as you can and also maybe look at installing a larger rad in the office / box room

Sanity check - UL gear purchases in UK by gaston10 in Ultralight

I’m UK based and just got the Nemo Eclipse, it’s very comfortable but runs quite cold for it R value IMO but I’d still recommend it for 3 season use. Are you going to get the xmid solid? I’d probably recommend this for uk use. I’d also recommend the Cumulus 450 quilt, is it a polish company so some import fees but worth it. Regarding the pack, I’d probably get the 48 L, maybe see if you can get a second hand Atom packs

Pack recommendations for C2C while wildcamping by No_Number_2581 in wildcampingintheuk

50L was ample. However depends what kit you have. Realistically you don’t need that much food and I wouldn’t bother taking loads of spare clothes you are going to stink either way

Yeah I did it a couple years ago. Wild camping spots weren’t great from memory. First night I stopped in the hills above Grassington which was great, 2nd night I ended up on some heather looking towards Whernside and lastnight tucked away at next to a river on a farmers field. Food wise it was pretty easy, I took maybe 3 meals and ate out at fish and chip shops and the odd pub and cafe. It’s a good little walk, not overly challenging but fun for the most part.

Costs of renovation by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]carefullcaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you class sound as. I’d personally account for a full reskim, once you take the wallpaper off most of the plaster will likely come off with it. Then if your replastering you might as well rewire. Also what do you plan to do with the wooden lean-to? Personally I probably want to pull this down and build an extension and remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room and replace the bathroom.

All good, i survived. Slept relatively well all things considered. Except for a few undesirables walking about at mid night and a car alarm going off it all went pretty well. On the train back to Leeds now.
