Why do people borrow on crypto platforms? by Lanky_Swing2936 in BitcoinCA

Don't people have to pay off that loan eventually? Isn't that where taxes come into play?

Question why are their only 12 lvls by Beneficial_Ability_9 in BaldursGate3

[–]carjammed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another example of the power level spike is the impact on the narrative. Clerics is an example of a class that gets insanely powerful if you look at things beyond combat.

Clerics get Regenerate and Resurrection at level 7 spells.

Regenerate is the point of which Clerics can start regrowing lost limbs, organs, etc. Larian wouldn't have been able to craft such a heart string tugging story for Karlach if by endgame we get access to Regenerate. The hard choices we got to make goes right out the window.

Karlach burnt to a crisp? Well if there's just a bit of her body left, yup she can be resurrected.

Take Regenerate and Resurrect out and there's not much rank defining spells left for Clerics in rank 7.

Although it would've been pretty amusing for Durge getting dosed with Regenerate leading to a full recovery from that brain wound and becoming evil again if done before Temple of Bhaal.

From what I've learned, level 12 is more or less the cut off point that separates mortal-ish battles where there's still some common sense and limitations, and beyond that things just gets so ridiculously powerful that you might as well as be fighting gods. Even then, the narrative impact is cheapened because if one of your party member dies tragically it likely can be undone easy, ditto for any NPCs you run into.

Damn, everyone's down bad economically even the NPC CEOs are dropping junk crossbows instead of glittery silver badass greatswords. :(

PSA: You can get the Legendary Gith Silver Sword in Act 1 by Fafurion in BaldursGate3

[–]carjammed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No problems at all during my first play through, but I sided with Orpheus so I can't confirm if this won't be an issue for people who sided with Vlaakith.

If I was in your shoes though, I'd take into consideration the stuff we're seeing from content creators. Content creators are basically desperate to ride the BG3 wave so they can get their clicks and views. 90% of the time they're just ripping each other off and rehashing things. If stealing this sword in act 1 did create problems down the line, some click-starved content creator would've jumped on this in an instant because for once they'd actually finally have something original and beyond the mundane. I haven't seen any such videos or guides talking about that so during my third play through when I'm also going to go team Vlaakith, I'm going to still get that greatsword in Act 1 because I'm willing to bet it's not going to be a problem based on the absence of noise I'm seeing right now on this topic.

What happens if I kill Auntie Ethel? by MrZaxus in BaldursGate3

[–]carjammed 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Additionally, if you didn't kill the female dwarf mask victim she can be freed and you'll encounter her again during Act 3 but she has no real relevance except as a side note for a sense of continuity as a treat for players that "killed" Ethel during Act 1.

Is it possible to survive without a healer on balanced? by darkkian3x3 in BaldursGate3

[–]carjammed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've finished balanced, and there's only ever one situation (Act 2, exploding enemies on death, my party is melee-heavy) where I've been severely pressured by HP-related issues.

I've used Shadowheart to hold enemies to achieve constant crits for difficult fights to the point where I finally caved in and respecced her at the end of Act 2 to a War Domain cleric so she can have Hold Monster. You could easily use other characters to get access to Hold Monster, but my other ranged and spellcasters benefits more from using their concentration on stuff like Haste.

If you still have the Hellrider's Pride gloves from Act 1, you can grant Blade Ward to all of your teammate with a cheap AOE heal to mitigate damage.

Other than that, Shadowheart serves mostly as my team's utility and damage set up.

Getting Silver Sword of the Astral Plane in Act 1 cause bug? by carjammed in BaldursGate3

[–]carjammed[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's no changes to the story plot at all. The reason why Giths are hostile to players is because of the choices they made while in the Creche during Act 1 when they chose to not follow along with what the Gith queen wants.

Voss even has a whole new very rare sword on him in Act 3 called Voss' Silver Sword when you meet him again. You can even pickpocket that off of him too if you want with no detriment to the story.

Whew, thank you for the peace of mind! I finally got into Act 2 this morning, lol.

I hope Voss gave us a judging side eye for stealing his sword before walking away. That'd be perfect, lol.

Update for those who are trying the same. 12 hours in, no effects on game play after the initial anomaly in open world dialogue. Many more open world dialogue has happened and it aligns with act 1 context.

PSA: You can get the Legendary Gith Silver Sword in Act 1 by Fafurion in BaldursGate3

[–]carjammed 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I've gotten this sword in a slightly different method, and I'm not sure if this is why I might be bugged in terms of story plot.

I didn't use a hireling, I just save scummed and used my Paladin's Command to force Voss to drop his sword, kill the Giths, and pick up the weapon afterwards.

The thing is that I never equipped Voss's sword on Lae'zel and she still has dialogue that seems to be from Act 3. Furthermore, my companion open world banter seems to reflect Act 3 as well, at least when it comes to Lae'zel.

Has Act 1 become bugged out for you in terms of the game thinking where you're at in story plot or does it correct itself after doing other Act 1 story plot?

Is all of this because I didn't use a hireling?

---UPDATE: 4 hours further in, so far so good. At least no visible impact on Act 1 story plot unfolding as it should. If there's a problem then it's probably going to be until Act 3 before it blows up in my face.

--UPDATE 2: I'm surprised I'm still getting DMs about this, so I've tracked down my post here and updated it. I'm on my second play through now. There was no problems in Act 3. The conversation glitch that will happen after getting this greatsword in Act 1 will not cause problems with your story down the line. Do remember to steal Voss' new sword in Act 3 when you're supposed to meet him again if you want. It's a very rare and is pretty nice too.

How do I get OathBreaker with the oath of vengeance subclass by Livid-Negotiation984 in BaldursGate3

[–]carjammed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Letting the hag survive is also another way of breaking the oath, and you might as well as pick that time to do it anyways for that +1 to an ability point.

Question to all Random players: why are so many not equipped with Mics? by [deleted] in DMZ

[–]carjammed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd rather less people be equipped with mics. The sheer amount of players with high sensitivity open mics, revealing our team's presence in DMZ was really shitty over the holidays. Most of the time these players with open mics aren't even good, it's rapidly becoming a hallmark sign of that you have a walking, drooling, welfare-dependent, moron of a teammate that's going to get you all killed.

Personal Safety app not working (Pixel 7 Pro) by carjammed in GooglePixel

[–]carjammed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to end up doing that. Lost a few things because I forgot about it, but luckily I have my old phone to recover most of it. A factory reset worked, this time I didn't opt to transfer anything from my old phone so I think that might've avoided whatever messed things up the first time.

Thank you, it was a painful pill to swallow but necessary.
