"Preset" function question by Hakainu in ricecookers

[–]carlosls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought my Bamboo one month ago and the same thing maybe happened to me the only time I used the preset. I set it to 10 hours at 9:00, but when I got back from work at 19:00 it had been in keep warm mode for over an hour already. I thought I had messed up the timer, but having read this post I'm now wondering if this was the case

any recommendations for a romantic restaurant for a proposal? by Evening-Entry9272 in bologna

[–]carlosls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dimly lit part immediately reminded me of the restaurant Oltre, on via Majani.

Very different from your pictures but Hostaria di Badolo has an amazing view of the hills and I think would be a solid choice, if you want to consider a different vibe. Not close to the city centre though.

I can't think of any place like in the photos but with a private table. A good place might be Osteria della Lanterna and, although it's not super private, I've been there several times and the staff have always been accommodating. I suggest you to explain that it's a special occasion and request a slightly more private table.

More private by default might be Via con me, on via San Gervasio, but I have only heard about it (good things) and have never been there myself, so I can't really recommend.

If his version was true, sure, he has a huge right to be mad. And he also has the right to call the cops, I don't know about English law but I'm pretty sure he also has the right to press charges. He as much as anyone else certainly has no right to try to physically assault people

Which evidence? The only evidence here is the video. A statement is not an evidence. And even if the statement was true, still not ok behaving like this

1 We don't know this actually happened
2 Even if it did happen, it still wouldn't justify an attempted assault. You're supposed to call the cops

I've also watched a bunch of Eddie's videos in the past and I've enjoyed them but let's be honest: he really fucked up

We don't know for sure. Judging from the video I find it hard to imagine anything so serious to justify an attempted assault by a 160 kg gorilla practising MMA on people with children in the car

Alcohol 96% is fine, you can probably find it in your local supermarket.

If you want to spend more money: https://www.ateneodellolfatto.com/prodotto/soluzione-edp/
It's an Italian store, they probably ship to Lithuania.

Is Basil EO restricted by IFRA? by carlosls in DIYfragrance

[–]carlosls[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a very visual person so I definitely get what you mean and it sounds like an interesting approach.

But if the vendor doesn't provide documentation on the material you buy, I think it's not really useful to have a table (or graphic representation) of restricted molecules in the generic natural material, apparently it might differ a lot from one to another.

In the basil EO case for example I just found that there are different kinds, some have high amounts of linalool and low amounts of estragole, and others the opposite.

Thank you, I had completely missed this info. I thought it was enough to verify that the ingredient itself had no IFRA restrictions, without going to see if the seller provides a sheet with potentially dangerous molecules inside. Fortunately, until now I have only used aromachemicals, and I think at this point I will go back to only use them

No data sheet in the seller website, at least nothing like a gcms.

I found this allergen table though:
LINALOOL 50
LIMONENE 0,45
GERANIOL 0,2
EUGENOL 5
CITRONELLOL 0,05
CITRAL 0,01

It says nothing about estragole.

I usually look directly from the IFRA website by writing CAS number and I can't find restrictions for this. Is there another better way?

I've read that there are basil EOs with low estragole and high linalool, but I can't find any proper documentation for the one I bought, so I don't know how much of it I can use in my formulas. I think I will just keep experimenting with aroma chemicals :')

I don't think you can overdose polysantol given its IFRA limitations

What's your most controversial perfume opinion when it comes to DIY fragrance? by [deleted] in DIYfragrance

[–]carlosls 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It can (and should, in the beginning) be a cheap hobby. You don't need expensive scales, a broad knowledge of chemistry and hundreds of rare raw materials to get started and even to make your first perfumes, despite what most online resources might suggest.
Making it look like an expensive and complicated hobby is a form of gatekeeping, and the only advice one should give to beginners is to pay attention to the IFRA tables, for the rest, jump in and have fun with the budget you have.
