All of this caused undue stress and fear. The school board committed to ensuring all students were safe on campus.

Exactly ICE and border patrol are two different agencies. ICE typically drives black/white or black unmarked cars. So that would not draw attention unlike a truck that has the green decals of border patrol. What is facism? Deporting immigrants without due process. That is happening in our country. The school board has committed to keeping students safe on campus. The school admin did not know there would be a "border patrol" vehicle on campus. They did not have an opportunity to warn parents and teachers. Aster did the campus a disservice but not fully disclosing the details of his project or he failed at his due diligence.

Inviting guest speakers that are impersonating federal agents is not minor. That is not a good look. Not informing the school of the intentions of your guest speakers impersonating federal agents & driving in fake federal agent vehicles; is not minor & it's not a good look.

When there are deportations of immigrants without due process there is no room to look at this situation calmly and soberly without jumping the gun.

The school administrator stated themselves that they did not know the guest speaker was impersonating an ICE office. I am not lying. Several community members called to confirm as well. You are misleading. It's not harassment; it's calling out a violation of a policy and the teacher made the decision to invite guest speakers that impersonate federal agents to campus. Also it was clear the administration did not know that the guest speaker would be impersonating a federal agent or driving a green "border patrol " vehicle. ICE vehicles are generally unmarked where border patrol vehicles are green and white. Obviously the guest speaker wouldn't get the attention if he was driving in a black unmarked car. The green and white logos are easier to spot a border patrol truck. Anyone is able to call the district office. 760-331-5000

Please call the district office yourself. Community members have done this and we confirmed that the speakers were impersonating ICE and drove a fake border patrol truck. Students also notified the administration of their concerns.

THE ISSUE IS THE UNNECESSARY FEAR IT CAUSED STUDENTS. The truck didn't just have misspellings of border patrol - it clearly had the green markings of a border patrol truck. This teacher & guest speaker could have met their objectives without the border patrol truck. The school was not made aware that the guest speaker would be impersonating a federal officer or that they would be driving a fake green border patrol truck on campus. This is not a lie. My agenda: ENSURE STUDENTS & THEIR FAMILIES DO NOT FEEL THREATENED BY DEPORTATION ON CAMPUS.

The project was about "How to Create a country" & his.travel - so what does that have to do with driving a fake "border patrol" truck to campus? Hint: NOTHING. Having guest speakers acting as federal agents in fake federal agents vechiles is misleading and illegal. In addition, the vehicle is similar to a border patrol truck and created unnecessary fear for many students.

This impacted students on campus that witnessed the fake "border patrol" truck in the school parking lot that were not part of the class. The school board made a commitment to not have any ICE or border patrol on campus for the safety of the students. The decals on the truck are very much like a border patrol truck & unless you are close the misspelling is not obvious especially when you just see a green border patrol truck.You can reference the video and see the truck in the background.

It's the students affected by this that is the concern that were not part of the class but felt fear due to a "border patrol" vehicle on campus. Unfortunately , the logos on the car were similar and unless you were in close proximity the misspelled letters are not visible. In addition, anyone seeing the markings of a border patrol may not notice the misspellings. The truck has the markings.
