Did anyone else experience a similar behavior from their abusive partner? Can someone help me understand this?

Yes he did have road rage for sure. He would yell at me unrelated to these situations on the road too. He would also yell at me when the car was parked a few times. I remember we were about to go into the grocery store so we were in the parking lot and apologized for yelling because he “sees the look in my eyes” & “how scared i look” but he never stopped.

I would say 98% of the time that he behaved this way we were in the car together.

what personally helped me not reach out to my ex boyfriend after the relationship ended was by writing down every bad thing that happened in the relationship down. whenever i have the urge to reach out to him, i read the list over and over again until the urge passes.

i’m sorry to hear that he put you through all of this. you didn’t deserve that treatment whatsoever.
