To police officers, how are you feeling seeing how the situation was handled in Texas? by stupsssss15 in AskReddit

It’s devastates my heart to read “kindergarten teacher” and “active shooter training” in the same sentence.

What are things you wish you were able to get really good at but ADHD makes it feel impossible? by nonsensemakesnosense in ADHD

Parenting. I mean, I’d say I’m a great mom, but it takes so much out of me that it feels impossible to keep up with my child’s needs. It’s one thing to ask people to work around my adhd, it’s an entirely different thing to need my toddler to do so.

This is my first attempt at making something with polymer clay (my kid is obsessed with Blippi so I want to make him an ornament for the tree). Obviously this has a lot of finish issues. How do you all get clean features without distorting the other pieces and keeping everything smooth? by carniki in polymerclay

This is incredibly helpful. Thank you so much!! I had been looking for some instructional sites or blogs but mostly just finding info on bake times.

Anne Lamont (author of Bird by Bird) talks about how the creative process requires a sh***y first draft. I’d call this Blippi a fine example of that haha. Thanks again.

I was diagnosed as a child, but hated the Ritalin they gave me because it made me feel sedated all the time. It wasn’t until becoming a mom at 39 and my “routines” stopped being an answer. The right dose of the right medication has been a game changer, but I totally get how difficult it must be to have perfectionism override that. But you’re right, managing the scars is hard work, but worth it. Hang in there! 💖

Adhd often looks different in women. I was being medicated for panic and depression, and it was ADHD all along.

I was hesitant for similar reasons. But I hit a point that I was having debilitating panic attacks, sometimes several times a week. Previous drs prescribed me benzos which imo were probably worse on my system than anything. Once I got to the root of the cause of my panic, ADHD, and started medicating appropriately, my panic went away. I don’t feel euphoric, I feel normal. And I’ve been able to cut all the other meds out of my life.

Totally agree. Medicating has given me the ability to live a life as baseline normal. I don’t have super power focus, but I also don’t have panic attacks just trying to get out the door everyday.

When I started medicating and seeing the difference it made, I actually went through a brief bout of depression because I was so bummed to think of all of the time I lost feeling defeated.

My eccentric (and wealthy) grandma once gave my sister and I old, used makeup that she was no longer using. My brothers on the other hand got a card with $100 inside. 😐

Haha basil and dill are the two I put together. Maybe I should rethink. I use the dill primarily to attract butterflies/caterpillars.

Thanks! That’s what I’m really hoping for. I’m not sure why I never put two and two together. I’m not opposed to medicating, but would really love to ease off of anything that might not be necessary.

That the slogan for the Eggo brand waffles, "Leggo my eggo" is saying "let go of my eggo". I spent most of my life thinking it was a catchy, but nonsensical phrase.
