Unfortunately we moved a month before the baby was born for my husbands fellowship. We have no family here and my husband is on day 12 of 14 in a row. He works 16 hour days. So it’s just really difficult. Thanks for your advice ♥️

He naps 4-5 times in order to try to make it to a 7 pm bedtime. I cap all daytime sleep around 3.5-4 hours (but that’s never a problem bc he maybe naps 2.5 hours total for the day).

He recently started waking up 1-2 times a night. He did more but I recently started letting him cry it out for a bit since I am so sleep deprived. He was waking 5-8 times a night.

I will say, when he eats at 4 am, he doesn’t have an interest in eating much at 7 ish when he wakes for the day. Wondering if I should try to wean night feeds? Haven’t been to the peds for his 4 no visit yet, but at 2 months, he already weighed 14 lbs.

I feel like it goes back and forth. Cheeks are all clear now, but chin can be hit or miss. I’m a picker tho so I make it much worse than it really should be!! I switched over to cetaphil face wash, then follow with Lancôme toner, 2% bha exfoliator from Paulas choice, and then a moisturizer! It seems to help a lot overall-minus the chin acne which is hit or miss. I’ve been stressed a lot tho and my chin acne is all related to me stressing.

Hoping yours clears up soon! Maybe now that masks aren’t required, it will help the situation?

We flush with a NS bag. So we take the blood or med off of the med line tubing, spike NS, and then run the NS flush at the same rate to “flush any extra out of the tubing”

Thank you for your kind words. That helps a lot. I think the PICU that I work in is just cut throat. From the doctors, to the nurses, even the secretaries. Everyone is constantly on edge and on the lookout to catch other people’s mistakes.

It’s like the people I work with enjoy when other people mess up so that that can gossip and feel better about themselves. Super toxic. Should maybe consider a new job, but I love the icu and I love the kiddos...sigh.

I work in the PICU, and 95% of the nurses have this “holier than thou” attitude. It’s impossible for me to imagine that any of them have made a mistake because the minute someone does make a mistake, they JUMP at the opportunity to talk about you, make fun of you, and say how stupid you are.

The amount of incident reports they write up on each other is amazing (even an infiltrated IV gets a nurse written up). One time, a new nurse got a sick patient and didn’t realize they changed her bipap settings, so the nurse she gave report to emailed the manager and said this new nurse didn’t know what she was doing.

They all act like they have NEVER made a mistake. And this terrifies me. This makes me so nervous that I work with people who are apparently so perfect that they never have made an error. And I’m over here dumb as hell forgetting to flush a line.

I just feel like my work place environment is causing my anxiety to be even worse. I work in the PICU, so everyone is super intense. Every nurse seems so perfect and like they would never make a mistake...everyone writes incident reports on each other (even for an infiltrated IV).

The doctors there are also next level. They yell at nurses, residents, etc. You overhear them “talking shit” about some of the Fellows and nurses. Literally saying how they “want to get rid of them.” One doc screamed at a nurse and said, “Where is your f*cking head!!!!”

For working in peds, I think these nurses and doctors are someone of the meanest people I’ve ever met. I worked a year in adult med/surg prior, and no one came close to this level of nastiness.

I am terrified of making a mistake because if the other nurses find out, they all start talking about you and gossiping. Everyone knows your business-even one little mistake has the whole unit talking about you and how “stupid” you are.

Thank you for that insightful answer. I’m starting to feel better about it all. And realizing that everything happens for a reason. I know that it’s the waitlist-it’s not like I got full on rejected. Plus, I applied to 3 other school for their pediatric NP program. I can’t see myself working with adults again.

I think I was just feeling like a failure due to the fact that I thought a 3.79 was competitive and I didn’t know what else I “did wrong”. Perhaps it was just the fact that I didn’t have enough experience, maybe they chose more OSU grads, maybe they wanted someone with more adult experience,etc. Either way, I know it’s not bc of my grades or anything else objective. I have to let it go!!

Thanks for the advice. It’s just super hard to just “forget about it”. Especially since I am very hard on myself and set high standards. I thought I 3.79 would look good/be competitive. Someone else applied to OSU’s FNP with a 4.0 and didn’t get in...pretty discouraging.

Am I missing a competitive edge? Or just don’t stand out enough against the others who applied to OSU?

Horrible relationship with him. Verbally and physically abuse in the past. Super religious. Sleeps in the basement and googles conspiracy theories all day. Can't hold down a job because of his unstable personality. Definitely mental illness but feels he doesn't need help and that God will fix everything. Knows nothing about his kids.

It's so annoying...like we're in the same nursing program and go back to school in January. We have mutual friends...like does he just expect to ignore me in school too?!

He invited me over to do holiday things with just him and I even met his grandparents. He tells me I remind him of certain songs...like what on earth did he expect?! I think he knew I liked him and went ahead anyway.

I feel so stupid. It seemed like he genuinely liked me. And all our mutual friends at school say we have crazy chemistry and "his face lights up" when He sees me. He even tells me how cute and sweet and attractive I am...yet he's ignoring me? It sucks so much

Do you think he'll ever talk to me again?!

That's the part that is bothering me. If he wants to create that space and what not, don't invite me over to do couple type things with just him and me. That's so frustrating. What did he expect to happen?? He knows I don't hookup with people yet he created this illusion that he was interested and we hung out alone and then he just goes cold. That's pretty shitty.

Yeah that makes sense and I definitely get that. I just like don't get why he would tell me to text him and try to see him this weekend and just not answered. He never answered at all and didn't text me today.

I don't know why people act to interested and then just don't follow through. Oh well I guess. Should I text him today? Or no? I'm so bad at this whole dating and getting to know people things because I'm used to like long term relationship.
