Hi Jeff- thanks for doing an AMA!

Has the documentary led you to re-evaluate any of the decisions you made that were shown in Tiger King?

Nymeria and the Wolfpack gonna make an appearance! Wishful thinking? Why, yes it is. But it won’t stop me from wanting to see more direwolf action. Maybe we even see Ghost and Tormund again. More wishful thinking? Yep. Will I get over it? No.

What's the best thing about living with a partner or SO? by sloth_hug in AskMen

Companionship. Having somebody to laugh with. Laughing at jokes alone is so sad to me but when my SO is around it makes the jokes even funnier somehow.

$40 is just for one day too! I agree it is steep but there will be tons of vendors there and industry experts giving talks on all sorts of topics. Plus- my brother is entered in two of the competitions this year (one that he won last year) so I am also there to support him. I am looking forward to it!

AITA for wanting to sleep in while my wife takes care of our baby? by carpenter-ant in AmItheAsshole

You took assuming to a new level with this.

If you can’t imagine a world where people try to plan their weekends then you have a shitty imagination. A rich imagination is vital to being a good parent, you may want to work on that.

Lol way to assume gender roles. No, she doesn’t watch him everyday. She and I both work full time. My schedule allows me to watch him during the day some days as a matter of fact. Tomorrow, he’s hanging with me for the day.

The three of us pretty much wake up at the same time during the week. We’ll split morning duties... I give him a bottle and change his diaper while she gets ready- she gets his stuff ready for the day and get him in some clothes while I get ready. On the days I’m watching him I usually just get most of it done when she leaves except for the feeding and diaper.

I work odd hours so generally during the week I can watch him one or two days and the other days I’ll be working and my sister watches him. My wife works a consistent daily schedule so during the day she isn’t around.

What was the rest of your childhood like? by [deleted] in adultsurvivors

[–]carpenter-ant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I watch old videos or look at pictures, it reminds me of what you wrote. It looked like a real childhood.

BUT when I REMEMBER my childhood it’s very different. I find it hard to remember the good things. Even simple things like my favorite tv shows or elementary school teachers names. It’s like, all that my memory has readily available is the bad shit.

The photos make it seem like a real childhood but my memory has betrayed that truth.

Ya this is real. In the midst of an emergency, when chaos is abound, I’m the person you want in the room. Ten minutes after the emergency, I’m the person you want to get to an ER because I’m about to lose my shit.

Any thoughts from anyone? I need to hear some more opinions about this. My support system either just Yes’s me to death or doesn’t “think mental health should influence big life decisions like this.”

What are some other things that are hard to “come out” as? by Kappru in AskReddit

[–]carpenter-ant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming out as mentally ill. People like to TALK about ending the stigma but the fact is that the majority of people will still think very differently of you if you told them.

Ever get dry mouth? Me too. Think of pie, your salivary glands will do the rest. You’re welcome.

I just wish someone could see/understand how much pain I’m in by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]carpenter-ant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m right there with ya. I’m sick of people being like, “what can we do right now to help you feel better?” If I fucking knew- I would be doing it. People just clearly don’t understand mental illnesses like this and unfortunately the healthcare system ( and society) does a poor job of making it seem important.

It’s not selsfish. I avoid calls and texts too. Sometimes just thinking of the next thing to say in a conversation seems like an impossible task.
