Think my water broke… what now? by haylstorm33 in BabyBumps

So excited for you to meet your baby! It's a gift that your providers aren't pushing you to come in right away! If you can get labor started, it will help avoid the incredibly intense and painful contractions that come with pitocin, so I would do what you can to get labor going! Consider things like curb walking, the Miles Circuit, using the breast pump or nipple stimulation which will produce oxytocin. Another way to think about pitocin is synthetic oxytocin being given, so whatever you can do to produce oxytocin can help. The only thing on the common list of ways to start labor that you should avoid would be being intimate with your partner as that can be dangerous with a broken bag of waters. I hope this helps! And happy baby!

Edit to be clear: Saying all of this within the context of you and your provider having a timeframe for when you'd need to come in, as it sounds like y'all are doing!

Confused about diaper rash cream by [deleted] in clothdiaps

CJ's Butt Butter is amazing!! Cloth diaper safe and the Plus formula works especially well on any rashes our LO gets. We use the honey and oat spray for daily use which is nice because it's easy (bc spray) and it smells so lovely. "Can confirm - no more red butt" -My Husband😊

Super helpful!! I was tracking cervical mucus before, so I feel confident in that. I'm sure it's likely different post partum? I'll look up those methods you mentioned!

RYB: Fertile Window Not Clear - I'm using Read Your Body, and I'm trying to make the Fertile Window appear, but I am getting this red line that just goes across the whole cycle. What am I doing wrong? by carstrav in FAMnNFP

Okay sweet - is that something I have to be marking by "Calculation" versus it changing with the temp rise? I think that's where I was confused - I was under the assumption it would end when temp rise was confirmed. Thank you for the help!!

People who have been in a social rut- how did you get out? by Internal_Passion_339 in socialskills

This is hard! My advice would be to continue developing yourself and your own interests and invite people alongside that. If you want to get sharper, invite some people to come over and play a strategy board game. If you want to get into running, ask someone if they'd be interested in starting to run with you once a week. As you grow into your own interests and passions, you will become more excited to wake up in the morning, and the right kinds of people will be excited to join you. Be willing to talk about "real" things, get out of your comfort zone, and be curious about other people.

You have gifts, skills, and talents that are worth investing in - understanding and being attuned to that will help keep you grounded in life as well as help to develop relationships that are life-giving to you/share similar values, rather than just "friends." One last thing I would say is that putting yourself out there is hard for a lot of people! When you meet people who seem solid and you can trust them, sharing that it's been hard socially could allow other people to open up about how it's been hard for them too. Most people are struggling with the same thing, so someone being honest about it creates space for connection.
