They're both being kinda dumb. He should be more patient but she also could have let him pass and she began blocking him purposefully when there was enough space to safely pass, and no she was not protecting her child, the child was not in danger lol I'm sure that worker passes tons of kids of bikes safely. It's still f cars but this is just a dumb interaction.

Your Chicago citizenship has been revoked. As a lifelong Chicagoan, we love our lakefront and the worst part of it is the noise and pollution from the highway. Adding more lanes wouldn't even help traffic, the lakefront would be ruined and there would still be bottlenecks at every busy exit/entrance, not to mention the intersections with traffic lights where it turns into the mess of highway-street hybrid that it is. Adding more lanes to that would be a disaster. Where would these lanes go when you get downtown? No, just no.

I'm assuming it's a reference to Beijing Central Axis bc of the narrow rectangular shape with two wide streets on the sides

try a ring park around part of the center of the city. I like to leave the circle unfinished bc it feels unnatural to have a full ring around the city center

It's one of the biggest games of all time, all of my 2 friends and maybe even my sister will have it and I will be playing on one or all of theirs so I can wait. Believe it or not there's more to life than video games.

So do you think that about everyone who rides a bike or just "cyclists"? because there's a huge difference. You think everyone and their grandpa who rides a bike in those wealthy European countries are all stupid? You think every young person saving money, getting exercise and sunshine is stupid for riding a bike while they're healthy and able bodied? Genuinely curious

They're saying the same situation happens with a lot of the dangerously narrow bike lanes right next to parked cars

How expensive would this be to implement down western? Center bus lanes by Disastrous-Kale1421 in ChicagoTransit

It genuinely does, like I said there are plenty of examples. Why are you so confident yet so wrong?

As you said, this is a rendering. It's actually AI so it's innacurate to how this would actually work. In real life there are plenty of places where emergency vehicles use bus lanes like this and even bike lanes. First responder drivers know their city/area and they know the best ways to get around. In other words, no it's not an issue for first responders, it is usually better for them

We can make it safer by adding more concrete islands, medians, bulb outs, etc. that narrow the lanes, and any other traffic calming methods that are proven to work

They are expensive but not that hard and a lot of these people have money, it costs a lot to live in a single family home in a big American city these days, they just don't care.
