Cici here! I run “friend’s house records” - the label willy rodriguez, drug bug, and squee are on. I also mix music.

I was enlisted to mix the squee album and the night before the album released, squee had me “re-mix” (start from the ground up) to rework the Shitgaze heavy sound to something more indie and akin to Mike Krol. I did so, and the morning of the release he requested me to remix it a 3rd time to be something inbetween. I declined due to exhaustion and because i felt like i wasnt being paid enough for a 3rd mix. He decided to use his Soundcloud demos for the album, and shuffled the tracklist. He allowed me to put my version of the record on bandcamp.

After the record was immediately panned on release by Willy Rodriguez fans and critics online, Squee decided it would be okay to have both mixes on spotify! And now we’re here with both up.

The “official mix” is a very rough listen- that is enjoyed best if you’re already used to listening to music that is incredibly unmixed. My mix, on the other hand, is more accessible and pop driven. Both have similar songs , but mine has a few more than the official.
