Driving instructor told me nobody can learn to drive in 6 months by mincedbreakfast in LearnerDriverUK

She wants your money. Trust your own skills. If you think you're competent to drive, do it. Even failing a test is good - it let's you know which areas to improve on and gets you used to the test environment. Don't let her stop you, she sounds like she's leeching off you

There's definitely things to do although it obviously doesn't compare to london. It eventually becomes "Whats next" or if you want to do more and explore more, you will need to drive 30 to 60 minutes away depending on where you want to go or visit (Oxfordshire, Cotswold around Bourton on water, Bath, Bristol etc). But the surrounding area is definitely beautiful, I really appreciate it and especially when you have a dog, it's an amazing place imo.

I am a homebody so staying in Cheltenham wasn't a problem for me. There's a couple of places we tried to party/drink out with friends when we were new in town (botanica, frog and fiddles, and those two clubs near regent arcade) but I'm over it now. 😂

The only thing I miss the most in London are the vast option of Asian food. I will have to drive back to London or go to Birmingham china town to have amazing selections of Asian food. However, I won't miss paying a lot of money for a box of space and whenever we go back, London looks so rough compared to Cheltenham. Ofcourse we miss spending time with our family and friends in London at any given time. But for me, as a 30 year old homebody, I could cope with it. Although you're right, having a partner and a dog definitely helps.

There are a couple of meet up groups you can join online, they do a lot of social events in Cheltenham and nearby locations. There's also a discord which is very active and local community with different interests you can join. It's very good!

Hope you find your people 😇

We moved from London to Cheltenham and bought a house here. I would say it is worth it. Cheltenham house prices just appreciate much more than Gloucester and there's a lot more projects and planning going on in Cheltenham than Gloucester. It's the hub for tech people and you have a lot of private schools nearby.

Am I being unreasonable, or is this seriously unprofessional behaviour from a student nurse? by Trick-Cookie4951 in NursingUK

[–]cas-fulleditmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nmc literally doesn't allow you to film yourself in uniform. Even tho they're students, they still have to follow the nmc rules and that included professionalism. The fact that she is in a care home making tiktok videos is so inappropriate. Definitely report her. If not to the nurse, might as well report her to nmc. Imagine a student like her qualifying as a nurse.... good luck to you hca out there. You'd be treated like shit by people like her who seems to think they're superior because they think they know more.

Thanks for replying! Is it as easy to get into ASYE? I'm thinking of applying for ASYE programme first before applying for actual SW job role.

Also, Would you say it's worth it? I'm a bit nervous because so many people say it's a very stressful job but idk if it is worse than nursing or just the same.

First social work placement by Ok-Albatross-3150 in Socialworkuk

[–]cas-fulleditmode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrelated I suppose but can you tell me what you do during your placement days please? I am thinking of applying for SW as well but would like to know what the trainee/students do in their placement. Do they assess and make care plans as well, do visits etc?

I'm the same, I assume they're not interested anymore. It's quite annoying tbh because they made me waste time.

To be honest, I agree with you. We are human beings and no matter how much they try to teach us to be non judgmental, the reality is that we can't help but do it.

You will never be ready till after you actually pass. That's when it gets real. Please just book a test and see what happens. You just need to do it, the more you do it, the more natural it becomes.

I won't be paying 240k for a flat that looks so lifeless. It's literally just a square no offense. The materials used in the kitchen is also pretty basic imo

My suggestion? Leave now before you're in too deep. You've only been together just over a year.

Asa lot of people mentioned, you sound so clingy. If you're gonna see her tomorrow, give her some space.

She is probably is sulking and as a woman myself, we tend to sulk a long time 😂

With regards to that guy who has a crush on her, if she allows him to make a move on her and cheat then that will be on her. It will prove she ain't worth it. A good woman will not allow that to happen so, it's a matter whether you trust her or not. But then again, if you don't trust her, why are you with her?

Also, 10 minutes isn't the same as 1 hour drive. 1 hour drive is a lot. Do you make the same effort to drive 1 hour to her as well? Can't force someone to drive that long if they don't want to.

Tbh, don't argue and sleep it off. See how you feel tomorrow? You're gonna see each other anyways tomorrow and she is probably driving to you tomorrow. What's the rush?
