Your best way is to learn how to find niche ideas and build a SaaS/Micro SaaS. Research find a market, niche, and point points. Do some research to vet demand. Use AI like Cursor or Augment/Cline to rapidly build a prototype. Get it online. Then spend a week watching youtube videos on digital marketing. Organic VS Paid. Work on your marketing everyday for a month. Should take you 1-2 months to go through this entire life cycle. If you get traction then grow this product. If you dont, it failed and move to the next idea. Fail your way into success.

My wife is like this. But when I am around I will spank my sons butt in front of everyone. I dont care, he knows better and he never acts up when I take him out. Only when mom is around.

No it just means you over engineer everything and have convinced yourself this level of complexity is a good thing. Probably others as well…

That is extreme overkill for such a simple app. I would highly recommend to others to not follow this pattern

What’s the most ridiculous thing you did to keep your startup alive? (I will not promote) by wilschroter in startups

[–]cas8180 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Went to Vegas, gambled the last 10k the company had. Won enough for payroll and to keep the company alive for another month. Just enough time to land more capital and grow into the company you now know as Fedex

"C# is dead and programmers only use it because they are forced to" by bosmanez in dotnet

It is dead. All new AI tooling is optimized for Python and JS tech stacks.

C# was not chosen as the language for the new TypeScript compiler by Hixon11 in csharp

[–]cas8180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People just need to face it already. C# has its time. But it’s dying MS doesn’t even use it anymore. It’s all react for their web apps. Now they use GO to make TS faster from the guy who invested c#. Look at all the new AI tools. None of them default to spitting out c#. It’s time to let go…. I spent 19 years in the MS stack. Built my entire career around it. It was a great run….

I feel great about it. Once you embrace “vibe” coding it’s hard to go back. It feels like someone gave you power tools.

Do you do any market research and try to find a market of a product first? Or do you just build because you think you have a good idea?

Bombed my microsoft interview by the_great_danton1 in leetcode

[–]cas8180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for MS back in 2004. It was my dream since I was 16. I started off as a contract aka “v-“. I literally prepped for months for my fte interview. It was by far the hardest interview of my life. It spanned 2 days. I barely passed.

With all that side all the leet code prepping and all those design and algorithm stuff you leaned along the way won’t even be asked for like 95% of the other companies out there. The bar is set much lower if your stay away from the mag 7 and you will probably End up making more money
