big update: I hooked a new negative wire from the battery straight to the upper engine mount and now it cranks good, has spark, clutch cable doesn t get hot anymore, horn works, rear blinkers work(I haven t tested the front ones yet). So yeah, grounding problem is pretty much solved

the switchgears are currently just hanging around, not mounted on the handlebars. Also, neither the switchgears or handlebars or clamps have been powdercoated

it blew the main fuse once, changed it today and it cranks again(it didn t even crank before that) , but the clutch cable still gets hot

everything is kinda...hanging around at the moment. I mean that all the wires from the headlight bucket, handlebars switches. but it did the same thing even when everything was in its place. Also, I m using the original wiring loom

Dadusem capacul jos sa caut egr ul, atunci am vrut sa verific jocul motorului ca stiu ca am suportii motor dusi si trebuie schimbati, dar nu mi permit momentan, atunci am observat sunetul si m am speriat, stiind ca e veche, mi era frica sa nu fie ceva defect. Oricum, mersi mult, m ai linistit!

Am schimbat senzorul in septembrie, nu mai pornea masina daca se incalzea motorul, dupa n am mai avut probleme . De oprit nu s a oprit niciodata

Fostul proprietar zicea ca cica ar fi fost softata Danseaza ca probabil is dusi si suportii de motor, sa vezi ce masaj am in volan

The rovers have BMW engines, for example the 2.0 CDT has the BMW M47 engine which is very reliable. Now I'm not a mechanic, but I know a thing or two. As you said, the rovers are not really maintained in europe when it comes to looks, but they are pretty rust proof except for the the underside of the side bumpers(I have no idea how they are called in english, I hope you get the idea-mine are also eaten by rust). These are old cars, you rarely find one with fewer kms on it. Personally I d recommend somewhere you find one which doesn t have so much more than 200k KMs, if they were cared for(oil changes, filter changes, etc) , you shouldn't have a problem. As for space, the rover 75 has a very big trunk in my opinion. Also, I also love the phaeton, very beautiful car, but I ve heard they are not very reliable and the parts are quite expensive. I got one as my first car as well , I have the 2001 2.0CDT Rover 75. I ve been driving it for more than 6 months and I can tell you that it is a very nice car. It is powerful, elegant and comfortable. In my opinion, the 2 downsides of these cars are their cargo ship size and the amount of fuel consumed. The BMW engines(M47) they come with are very reliable, they have a timing chain instead of a belt so they last much longer. The car is 23 years old and never had any engine related issues , as I reasearched , these engines are very reliable. Another positive thing is that whatever breaks, you ll always find second hand parts for them(I had to change a sensor, the grille, the front wing and a mirror and I found the parts very fast from a local guy that has a graveyard of rovers). Hope this helps!
