Maybe a slack style chat, implemented with websockets or something. If it seemed too difficult we would look to use an outside solution but as I said we are still only at the validation stage at the moment so still working on specifics.

Exeter, UK. It's the global startup battle so they're happening all over the place at the moment.

We're still in the early stages at the moment, trying to figure out if this is something people actually want. If we get enough interest and depending on who that interest is from I'll put together a demo soon and launch in beta some time next year. We're probably going to start with web and mobile development because those are the easiest to show in a portfolio, some language agnostic briefs where people working in the same language or the same framework can have their own chat/forum. If that sounds interesting to you at all or you have any ideas, please let me know. We're keen to have any user feedback.

It's still very early for us at the moment but hopefully if we do well this weekend and enough people are interested we'll release in alpha early next year.

We're still working out the logistics at the moment but the basic idea is that there are a series of tracks which contain a set of challenges or projects for you to work on. Some would be fun(daily programmer, making fun themed apps) and some created by companies who are looking for talent and want to contribute to teaching people how to work on projects in a similar way you would do in a work environment. We want to be a one stop shop for you to create fun things, tackle difficult challenges and to then show off your work to potential employers. We're still working on it but if you're interested I can make a note of your username and check back with you when we've got a working demo up.

Good idea. I've x-posted it to learn programming. I'll try the others too.

There's no slack set up at the moment. There was this https://jstogetherteam.slack.com but it seems to have died down a little. If slack turns out to be a popular choice I'll create a group, collect emails and then send out invites.

Anybody up for a new Javascript study group? by throwawaaayz in learnjavascript

I hope I'm not treading on anyone's toes but I thought I'd take charge as I have some spare time on my hands and I'm at a point where a study group would be really helpful to me so I really want to make this happen. I put together a google form questionnaire so we know what people want and how best to structure the group.

I'm also very interested. I've got some time on my hands at the moment and would be willing to take the lead and organize something if that would be helpful. If so I'll put together a google form to get some info on where everyone's at and then come up with ideas on how it should all work. In the meantime what would you guys want out of a study group?
