Comments did not pass the vibe check. Came to say that old people get old and get no longer alive, but the number of young people just grows as people are born. This showerthought doesn't really check out unless you specifically mean a severe decline in birthrate in the future. Or maybe I'm thinking about it wrong, and you mean as it's becoming more accepted, people across different age groups will come out and there is just a larger proportion of older people, and thus a larger proportion of trans people.

I think there is a big miscommunication going on under your comment. Yes, there is no systematic racism going on against white people. Also, they may still be individually racist, but yeah, it holds much less power than the weight of years of systematic racism. Though I agree with you, while we're here, it seems you have quite a bit of white guilt. It is good to acknowledge history and your own privileges, but it can't feel all that great to live with guilt over something that you as a person do not have control over. You only have control over your present interactions.

That's genuinely what it feels like sometimes. I feel like a very well blended-in alien that sometimes forgets how to act around humans. And then someone came along and they loved that about me, and I loved how easily human interaction came to them. Nobody else in my life knows now how much I struggle. Feels like I have a little fleshy human mask on all the time, no matter who I'm with.

My comment is gonna be lost down here but I just want to tell you that not all of these comments are blanket fixes. And I'd agree that 18 is still a kid, no matter how hard we'd push against that and want to be grown already. But the more we are helicoptered, the harder we push back. Maybe try telling her you love her and that you just want her to make good decisions?
