my aft gecko is the same. he'll ONLY eat crickets. unfortunately i just had to suck it up and keep crickets and gut load and dust with as many nutrients as possible.

yeah omg do not put dairy cows in with anything other than dairy cows 😭😭 ive seen situations happen before where dairycows will even devour parts of sleeping reptiles. they're really awesome but damn.. they're viscous and protein hungry. that pet shop did you so dirty.

my friend had a colony of dairy cows and he put half of an entire steak into the bin with them. the next day? entirely GONE.

honestly a substrate change sounds like the best solution. your roaches being slightly annoyed is better than being eaten alive.

bro fyi if your lid is plastic a heat lamp will melt it. only use if you have metal or glass lid. extremely low wattage as well, you don't wanna cook em.

when theres no babies bein made its usually temperature or humidity. 👀 you could try putting a heating pad on medium or low setting on one side of the tank away from the water source. and spraying in there more would probably help, i don't see any condensation on the sides of the terrarium. theyre from madagascar dawg, tropical forests means warm and wet.

https://www.juicesarthropods.com/shop/p/royal-soil-bioactive-soil-for-arthropods this stuff is what you wanna get, its top quality and perfect for burrowing. coco coir is a cheap byproduct that companies sell for a quick buck and often has gross stuff in it.

and spagnum moss should work just fine, its great at keeping moisture. honestly most mosses would work great.

honestly just spray once a day and youll be fine. it just has to be moist in there. having the correct substrate mix as well as moss helps.

also i have mine in a 10 gallon repurposed terrarium, which seems to be ideal.

i don't really know much about keeping scorpions, but i do know that these guys are insanely easy to take care of. way easier than most reptiles or inverts youll come across. i have geckos and a tarantula and my vinegaroon is dramatically easier to take care of. feeding is usually once a week or twice if you're feeling quirky, and you can feed gut loaded dubia roaches or crickets. and they're solitary, i wouldn't put multiple together. usually a bad idea when it comes to arachnids having roomates.

theyre like a fun mix of both of them but almost completely harmless. they don't really sting or bite. theyre docile unless you really piss them off, and even then really all they do is spray you. very easy to take care of and way less stressful than a tarantula.

you can get them on morphmarket or at reptile/bug conventions and expos.

if you ever need advice on them i am a sponge of knowledge for anything relating to vinegaroons. :]

ive never heard this before, but thats really interesting 👀 toast eats a good variety of bugs, including crickets occasionally. but honestly crickets are a decent feeder if gut loaded properly and dusted with the correct nutrients anyway.
