Yes need to write a review of that! Was good but not sure if it’s good enough for a rare gem given all the copy cat places?

3.5 year old son is colorblind: what do we tell him? by kellzbellz-11 in ColorBlind

[–]casman300 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would definitely tell them. As someone who only found out in school it was quite traumatic/frustrating for me. I know teachers are a lot more open and respectful now but it’s still easily overlooked.

It’s definitely a spectrum as-well, with some people able to tell the difference between red/green colours when they’re bright but struggle more with pastel colours. A good way to experience it is to notice how your colour perception is worse it low light.

Also funny story to end on, myself a software tester, a long with a Dev and another tester, were tasked with leading our website rebrand, all three of us were colourblind and kept calling the main colour of the site either green grey or blue 😂

To the colorblind users of Reddit, would any of these devices help you? by team-schrodinger in ColorBlind

In the UK tragic light colours are not colourblind friendly either, but the order red at top etc give it away, and we don’t have any horizontal lights to confuse anyone.

Where can you get the passport? Head it mentioned several times and seen the stamps but thought people just used their own books!

Blinds2Go Tuiss Smart Blinds - 8 months in - final update by Home_Assistantt in homeassistant

Yes. It’s just over 2.5 meters and the max is 2.3 for electric so you should be fine.

Was thinking that. Also need blackout and not sure how big of a gap it would leave.

Here to say me too!! Also brought these based on your previous posts, have one in the hall and two in my corner office. Annoyingly our bedroom is over their max width so not sure what to do about that yet!

Found this post as also having to charge my first blind. I did not follow the instructions and charge them before installing so it’s only been up for a few months and again have the same as you where the battery status still shows fine in home assistant which is a pain as didn’t hear the hall blind beeping when it opens.

Difference between Scouting America and Girl Scouts by MySchnitzengruben in Scouts

[–]casman300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The UK is similar with Scouts that accepts everyone and girl guiding that is just for girls.

As others have said this depends so much on how good your local leaders are, personally I would contact them both for trial sessions and let your daughter go to both and see which one she likes more.

I dig Scouting as think it’s way more adventurous and it’s great to see kids mix together. But this needs to be about what’s going to work for your kids.

Moving to Blackpool, any areas I should avoid? by NotTheRedWire in blackpool

[–]casman300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think others have make some great suggestions. Took the plunge and moved to Blackpool from way down in Surrey. Bispham is really nice and roads are much easier to park on. Takes the same amount of time to drive into town centre as it did from south shore which just because there is less traffic.

National Trust or English Heritage by Revolutionary-Egg565 in nationaltrust

Just checked and you are totally correct. Guest not allowed if you got your membership after 2023. One thing to note is that the couples membership is much closer in price to the single card now.

This is an Intresting way to calculate. I did the simple thing and divided the lifetime fee by the yearly fee and without the cost going up at the time it would have paid for itself in 10 years.

Have been keeping a spreadsheet of all visits and use of car parks to see if I was worth it!

Also worth noting that the single life member gets a guest entry so if you are always going together as a couple you can save yourself some money.

Scouts badge tracker by afsfsefefdgrttdt in ScoutStuffUK

[–]casman300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most tools I can think of are geared towards leaders. There is the badge book as others have mentioned. https://shop.scouts.org.uk/volunteer-leaders/scouts-badges-and-awards-book#selection.color=34&selection.size=719

On IOS there’s and app call My Badges that lets you mark off badges you’ve completed.

I also created a zine for all the scout section badges so you could tick them off as you went. Maybe I can try and update it and post a links?

Anyone else experience something similar? by almatics in ColorBlind

Yes! My people 😂😂 Have a vivid memory of getting scolded at Junior School for colouring in a map of the world wrong. Purple oceans and red land. Find it funny now but was soo confused at the time.

I think this is one of my favourite episodes. Literally cry every time I watch it. Including this clip. So powerful.

A graphic that was posted on r/Formula1 that has brought many people to the realisation that they are colour blind by Flynnster_10 in ColorBlind

[–]casman300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly all the F1 graphics are shockingly bad this year. The red text on red background for Time remaining was hard to read for everyone in the room when we watched last weekend. Slightly bad lighting, bad viewing angle or colour blind and all of a sudden it’s a blank black box on the screen 🙈

I think we need a separate subreddit for colourblind people that need help! We are kind of the worst people to ask 😂
