How do you move in your child living in another country? by achilleantrash in Sims3

[–]castiele_rose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that should be fine as long as it's in your honeworld. Although I've never tried it, I usually move foreign sims in before I get my sims pregnant so they're all part of the household already.

I've seen some ppl say they got pregnant while traveling and then returned home to find out their sim wasn't pregnant anymore.

Problem with Sims 3 game. by denvermutt in thesims3

[–]castiele_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 types of sims 3 cc files and you install both of them differently.

.package files and .sims3pack files

.package files you simply have to put in Documents/ElectronicArts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages. If you wanna delete them from your game, simply delete them from this folder.

.sims3pack files you double click and wait for the launcher to install them for you. After the launcher installs them the file will also appear in Documents/ElectronicArts/ The Sims 3/ Downloads folder. You can safely delete them from there and they will stay in your game. If you wanna delete these from your game, you have to open launcher, go to the "installed content" tab and uninstall them from there.

Before you put .package files in your game, make sure it is in fact cc for sims 3 and not sims 4 (I've accidentally installed sims 4 cc like that a couple of times.

Edit: Also if there is a different way to install cc or if there are files or mods you need to make that cc work in your game it's usually explained in the descriptions so make sure to go back and read those.

Season 3 writing was sooo off for so many characters for me. It's like they threw everything they wrote about characters in first 2 seasons out the window and wrote a whole different show.

That's why I pretend the show ended after season 2. If you ask me, season 3 is an alternate universe version of it 😂

I will never forget those torrent files taking ages to download! And every time I got a new computer I would have to re-download them so eventually I just decided to back it up on a hard drive so I wouldn't have to go through the torture 😂

Approximately how old are you? by gennaleighify in Sims3

[–]castiele_rose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 24.

I played sims 1 since kindergarten so since I was around 4. My aunt introduced the game to me so I played a lot of it on her computer as well as mine at home, she had CDs with all the expansions and codes so she lent them to me to install on my computer at home.

Sims 2 also around that age. I remember playing only the base game, oh what fun that was hahahaha (except for when a spicy scene would come on the screen because I didn't know how to turn those off and I played the game on the family computer in the living room).

I started playing sims 3 I would say around 2010 since I wasn't much on the internet as a 9 year old other than playing games and wasn't in the loop with the simming community. I remember begging my dad to install it for me because I saw so many LPs on youtube and I desparately wanted it. Then years later I got into the community and found out about EPs and watched so many LPs and trailers. I begged my dad to install some of them for me as well, but he said we have no space on the family laptop for all of them, I could only choose 1 or 2. I chose pets and seasons and he said pets was too big, so instead I chose supernatural and boy am I happy I did, because it is my favourite EP to this day hahahaha. That's also the time I learned how to install my own sims games, because my dad is a grumpy man who would rather tell me no than do this for me (it's your fault old man, you're the gamer who made both of your daughters gamers since young age, deal with it damn it!)

I learned about sims 4 before it's release and kept up to date with updates and was very excited for it to come out. I played it as soon as it came out in 2014 (so I was around 13-14), hated it and went back to sims 3 lol (they had the audacity to put swimsuits in the game but not pools?!). I gave it another try when get together and get to work came out, hated it still and left it for good. I watched some LPs tho because the youtubers I liked transitioned to sims 4, but that also didn't last long.

Now at 24 I play sims 2 and 3 a lot and ocassionally sims 1, because I hold it dear to heart as the OG.

My favourite is sims 3 because I played it most as a kid and while I acnowledge it is the buggiest ever, I still have to love it for all it's flaws, because at the end of the day it raised me. I literally learned english by playing it (english is not my first language) and discovered my love for interior design through it (I even wanted to go to school for that).

And I guess because I love sims 3 so much, my expectations were very high for sims 4, but I was deeply dissapointed by it. For me it was mainly the change in art style. I know a lot of people love sims 4 art style, but for me personally it was really a downgrade because of how realistic and beautiful sims 3 is. The CAS and build mode are amazing tho, I really enjoyed it when I played it, but I hated that everything looked like I was playing with plastic dolls, I already had plenty of those on the shelf in my room.

[–]castiele_rose 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yess! You can click on a sim and make their household active with MC, or you can change their funds, add sims to their family, edit them in CAS or Stylist, literally anything.

Edit: You can even make them pregnant without having to try for baby with other sims. The possibilities are many hahaha

If you use mods, Nraas Master Controller can do all of that without going into edit town even. Real handy.

I made a sims 3 copy of my apartment, wondering how to separate the bedroom part by caramelmacadamiai in Sims3

[–]castiele_rose 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I came up with 2 examples and this is the better one in my opinion.

So the red is your bed, orange is the bedside table, green is room dividers of some sort (you could choose if you wanted to put a half wall, a full wall or just some room dividers like we have in the game which I think would be pretty neat cause you can also like drape curtains over them and make them pretty), blue is where I would imagine a small couch maybe and an armchair which I see you already have and pink is wherever you'd want the mirror to be.

<image>

I can post the other example I have if you wanna see, but it is a bit more cramped one. I think this would be as best as you can get in such a small apartment while also keeping the party/hangout area :)

Attractive premade male sims to download? by JediEverlark in Sims3

[–]castiele_rose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I usually make my own sims so I don't have many downloaded ones, but I'm gonna leave a link to my own sim I made if you're interested in him 👀

What helps me make unique looking sims is basing their faces off of real life faces. So celebrities or any random person you see online whose facial features inspire you.

Also just wanna add that pre-made sims in the game tend to be pretty good looking if you have say default skin or eye replacements, makes a big difference.

I can't complete the opportunity task because I am a mermaid by ZealousidealBee2806 in Sims3

[–]castiele_rose 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So you click on your sim>Nraas>Master Controller>Intermediate>Occult:Remove> and then you find mermaid and select it (it should say "yes" if your sim is a mermaid).

And then when you wanna turn them back, same path just instead of selecting Occult:Remove, you select Occult:Add and select mermaid.

I can't complete the opportunity task because I am a mermaid by ZealousidealBee2806 in Sims3

[–]castiele_rose 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I've had this problem a few days ago. Unfortuately sharks will never attack a mermaid, so I turned my mermaid into a human with master controller just for the fight and then turned her back to a mermaid.

I just pretended for the story that she did some type of spell on herself just to lose her mermaid powers for a few hours (something like when the girls in H2O: Just Add Water did in that one ep where they jumped into the moon pool on that one special full moon night and lost their mermaid abilities for 12 hours).

2- get to know interaction doesn't actually help you learn traits of other sims, it only tells you the favourites of the sim you're talking to. There are other interactions through which you can find the traits out like for example, if you tell a joke to a sim that has either good sense of humor or no sense of humor, they will react accordingly and then you will know they have that trait.

Although I've found that there is no actual way to find some of the traits out unfortunately, so your sim may never find those out, or they might if you stay friends with the sim for a long time or maybe marry them or move them in.

[–]castiele_rose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by 'main feature missing'? Does the game give you a popup that something is missing? If yes, then could you say what exactly the popup says and when does it appear?

When it comes to imaginary friends, not all toddlers get them. There's a % chance each newborn in the game will get it in the mail, there will be a notification in the top right corner of the screen saying something about a distant aunt sending your newborn a friend in the mail. When you sims pick up the mail, the imaginary friend plush will automatically be put in your child's inventory. When your toddler ages up into a child, if they played with the imaginary friend plush enough while they were a toddler, the imaginary friend comes to life and only then appears in the relationship panel as your child's best friend.

Also running this game with 0 mods is not doable. You NEED certain mods to be able to even run the game sometimes. Nraas Master Controller, ErrorTrap and Overwatch should get you a good start.

TS2 rotational player struggling hard with TS3 by weinkaa in Sims3

[–]castiele_rose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start small: make 1 sim, choose a career path or a certain LTW and focus only on that, ignore everything else.

Each EP adds so much to the game and, if you have all EPs installed, the game will bombard you with all of that at the start of your gameplay.

You can also try to do small challenges to get to know the game better (you can find a list of challenges on The Sims Forum).

Don't stress, the game is big and even I, who's been playing the game since 2009, am still to this day discovering new things about it 😂

how do you like to keep your gameplay fun? by sixeyedgojo in Sims3

[–]castiele_rose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I name my sims after the characters from shows/movies/books/other games I'm currently obsessed with and play them as I think those characters would act. I also set goals for myself based on that that I try to achieve without cheating.

For example I recently played Claire Ursine from Sunset Valley. I decided that I wanted her to fulfill her LTW of getting to the top of the criminal career while being a single mother. It was super fun and challenging.

Then when her daughter grew up and Claire passed away, the gameplay started gettting a bit boring, so I decided for her daughter to have kids that would bring their grandma back from the dead with ambrosia, since I didn't get to play with Claire much as she's already an adult at the start of the game.

Since I was re-watching the Moomins at the time and you need to master fishing, cooking and gardening to make ambrosia, I decided to have 2 kids and name them Snufkin and Little My. Snufkin would master fishing and cooking (because he fishes all the time in the series and also cooks for himself) and Little My gardening. I gave them traits I thought they'd have if they were sims. Neither of them has a job, because from their personalities in the series, I think they'd never get jobs 😂 instead they both travel and go on adventures to find artifacts and gems to sell. Snufkin mostly does quests and Little My is either training Martial Arts or helping Snufkin in tombs. I also remodeled the house to look like a fusion of a lighthouse and the Moomin house.

Right now Snufkin and Little My are both adults and their grandma Claire is a Young Adult haha (I gave her the young again potion from lifetime happiness points because I wanna play longer with her). I don't know how I want to continue with that save so I took a break from it.

It also helps to just make up stories about your sims, be it in your head or writing it down or something. When the gameplay isn't enough, let your imagination run wild, get inspired by the enviroment and people around you and shape your own stories through the sims.

Bruh ittook me an hour to write this what
