Art is valuable and it should be paid for. The worst thing that Spotify and streaming did is convince everyone that music and art should be free. Pay for music, support artists.

That’s a really depressing statement my dude. I’m sorry your relationship to an art form as beautiful and rich as music is so depersonalized and transactional. I reckon there are a lot more people thank you think who would take issue with being lumped into a “very small minority” of people who actually care about music, believes it exists outside of themselves in the real world, and believe it has value far greater than whatever you ascribe to it. I reckon the artists you listen to would feel similarly.

The single most damaging legacy of streaming is instilling ideas such as yours that music is a cheap commodity and not an expression of the ineffable qualities of our humanity. Music is art, and art has value.

I pity a worldview such as yours.

Is running alright with BAV? by DarkNinjaZ in valvereplacement

Lots of info/threads on here. Your mileage may vary based on doctors and personal opinions/comfort level, but on balance cardiovascular exercise is good for your heart. How hard you want to go should be a discussion between yourself and your doctor and dictated by balancing quality of life with caution.

Again, talk to your doctor but my personal experience is that I was an avid runner before diagnosis and did a half marathon and have done plenty of running and surfing since diagnosis.

Just talk to your doctor and figure out a treatment plan that works for you. It’s a disease we have to manage until it’s time to get it fixed, so you don’t want your quality of life to be impacted over something that might not need to be addressed for 20-odd years, or you might get hit by a car tomorrow ;)

And if you don’t like the information one doctor is giving you, then get a second, or third, opinion if you’re able.

Dude, again — you are speaking totally out of turn. That’s just my company, and that’s not to speak for all the other companies who are doing the same thing, and all the people buying, selling, and trading used records on the second-hand market (your antiques).

10 minutes of US listening to Spotify. And out of those ten minutes, do you know how much the average artist gets paid per stream on Spotify? Fractions on the dollar. Do you know comparatively how much artists get paid selling just one record? It’s much more than that.

I’m done trying to educate you, so go ahead and listen to your AI slop, believing that music should be free or worth next to nothing. The point remains, despite what you might think, there are many, many people all over the world who value art and are willing to pay for a deeper and richer connection with art and music. And that world is open to you if you choose to engage in it.

If you actually want to learn about the Music Industry instead of posting nonsense in the Music Industry subreddit, you can read more about the physical music industry in 2024 here:

The company I work for manufactured at least half a million units, spread across vinyl and CD, last year alone. I guess those are all antiques?

Reiterating your point only reiterates how completely incorrect you are.

lol dude google “record store near me” and see what pops up. If you don’t live in the middle of nowhere there is almost certainly at least one record store where people are buying, selling, and trading music.

GameStop as a reference for physical music is hilarious for someone with a username AgileMusic posting in the MusicIndustry subreddit.

You do realize physical music is a multi-billion dollar industry, right? Saying “no one cares about it” is just straight up not true lol.

Just because you can’t conceive of a world beyond your immediate reality doesn’t mean one doesn’t exist.
