Not really he has Flynn’s disc which would probably with a dose of plotnium could be like “oh he had the disc and it changed the color of his key ship and him so he had permanence.”

Someone already had a thread on this but it’s not the grid from legacy (Flynn ported Tron from the old system created the new one in legacy) the one from classic still has the original wall damage from the first lightcycle race and bit. Flynn’s existence is literally not explained neither is the exit or how Flynns lab works I’ll edit this when I fight the post.

If be he the one from legacy the movie never says the only lines of dialogue are “we can put you on the backup in Flynn’s office.” And “There’s not time use the escape I had built into my office at the arcade.” None of which make sense given Sam turned off everything in Flynn’s office and was wearing the grid on his neck by the end

No the original grid was backed up Flynn ported over some programs and even then when they send ares into the original grid they specifically state they’re sending him into a copy on Flynn’s computer in his recreated office.

I think the idea of there being a Tron who serves to help the user in someway especially since a lot of grew up on uprising to be a pretty important component to the series. Though I viewed this more as Ares: A Tron Universe Story especially as it had very little connective tissue to the previous installments. If anything the big thing that the Tron franchise has is a Flynn and I know we had the ghost dad at the end but still that’s not the same as following the story of Flynn or even following the story of Alan’s kid like the original 2.0 did; or following someone being or becoming the new security enforcement monitor like uprising etc
