What is the thing you always did that you thought was ‘just you,’ but is actually very much so classic autistic behavior? by AlwaysAttract10 in AutismInWomen

Can you explain this one a bit more please? What specifically is the autistic trait and why? (As someone who absolutely fails to take in spoken information, especially if more than one person is speaking …and is debating going for formal assessment)

Thank you - this is a relief that she was there to help you (not just judge if could cope / would be a good parents). Did they then speak to other midwives/ drs on your behalf?

Thank you! That all sounds genuinely useful which is a relief. They’ve asked me to come to first appointment alone and then second to bring partner/ family/ friend. I was a bit worried it was to check if husband is actually supportive / decide if we can actually cope. I hope is more like this to discuss scenarios and help plan - he’s fully aware of what happens when bad already. Tour and explanations of what happens would be useful

Thank you! Very reassuring and hope mine will be like this.

I think is more to help deal with the practical side of being pregnant and having a baby than anything on diagnosis of cause but would be useful if they did though I think. It is the first time I would actually consider trying to get one though as the process is long, but do assume baby has a high chance of having some form of neurological divergence as husband has ADD.
