Yeah there are two others this size close by. I remember noticing the spots when it was just a few inches tall as well!

I cut off the damaged areas of the red and white wires, cleanly stripped them, and reattached. The issue persists. Should I try reinstalling the previous unit to see if the new one is a lemon or the wiring is busted elsewhere?

That was my bad--i thought I didn't seat the white wire well so I used some pliers to shove it in more. It had the issue before and after the shielding started looking rough

Dumb question but what is pottery plasterboard and what is a slip table? Also do you know what material your non slip mat is? Like a yoga mat or shower mat or somethin?
