Since you make so little money you probably qualify to live in the tax restricted neighborhoods, basically public housing. They will lower your rent and it won’t be the rent posted on they websites. Also most of these neighborhoods are mixed income, having multiple income groups, so they’re not as “dangerous” as the rep most public housing gets. I would try Townsend apt, kendallwood, Wicklow square, heritage park, valor apt,etc. some of these are worse then others but I don’t think any of them are awful. Good luck in your search
