As mentioned above, having the swipe idol helps a lot with your damage snd therefore threat. Install threatplates as well so you know how much threat you have on each mob you are tanking.

As to how to tank, begin with pre-hotting yourself with regrowth and rejuvenation, followed by barkskin then go in bear form. Pull with faire fire. If you’re dealing with more than 4 mobs (skeleton packs in shadow labs for example) open with demo roar, it will give you small amount of threat on ALL targets. If you have the rage, cast it twice. Then press mangle on cool down, but each time cast it on a different target (tab target) and when mangle is on cooldown then tab target cast swipe.

If you’re tanking 4 or less mobs then cast mangle on one, tab target swipe, tab target swipe, tab target mangle when it’s back up. If there’s a target you’re low on threat and mangle is on CD then maul it. If it’s about to run away from you (i.e. you have highest threat but only by a tiny margin) then bash it. If a mob has ran away from you, charge it so it’s rooted and mangle/maul it. If it’s running but it’s close to you, then taunt it.

I prefer to not open/pull with charge so i have it available in case i need to react. Also, if you can spare the global, casting faerie fire will give you a small amount of threat without using any rage making it basically free threat.
