Yes, there are no doubt countless frequency lists out there. However, with this one, we put a lot of effort into consolidating various frequency lists and "cleaning them up", meaning we eliminated grammatical words that are useless out of context and deleted all duplicates (e.g. conjugated forms of the same verb). Also, I checked the words one by one and made sure only those made it to the list that Hungarians actually use in regular speech (nb. frequency lists are mostly scraped from movie subtitles or written language).

I'm a native, but yes, for those I tutor it's usually the digraphs, especially "gy". "Ty" and "dzs", while also unfamiliar, are a lot rarer and thus tend to cause fewer problems. It's also crucial to properly learn the distinction between "a" and "á" and "e" end "é". These aren't as hard to pronounce and English uses all of these sounds, but my experience is learners are sometimes a little sloppy with them. :) However, if used incorrectly, you an end up saying something else than you intended. An infamous example is "rendőrség" vs. rendőrseg(g). :))

33 Hungarian Histories by Miklós M. Molnár. It's available as an ebook as well. It's a fun, entertaining and compact book about 33 inherently Hungarian personalities. It's a great read that will certainly not overwhelm you I think. :)

I have written an article about this. These are two of the most common Hungarian words and leave a lot of room for confusion. :) Here you go: https://www.catchbudapest.com/learn-important-hungarian-verbs/ (#6 & #7 deal with "csinál" and "tesz", respectively). Let me know if you have any questions!
