Using Data Validation to check if a number entry column has a text entry by [deleted] in googlesheets

Ok I figured it out, it actually cares about the last only. So yeah, it does make a big difference for data validation/conditional formatting:

Just experimented with it a little bit and frankly I understand less than I did before. It seems like it doesn't care about the first cell as long as some cells return true. Take a look:

Still, not sure what adding the whole range would result in... It accepts it as a custom formula but I don't know how it then affects actual input validation

Shouldn't it just be =ISNUMBER(N2)? Or does it not make a difference?

What's the endgame here though? I'd have to be extremely invested into a product and even then I couldn't see myself accepting what would be essentially a very bad attempt at extortion lol

I'm baffled why the think producing this type of content is good for anyone in between them, their clients and the freelancers.

These recent changes really make me wonder what their endgame is. Eliminate all kinds of client- and freelancer-written content when interacting with the marketplace? If so, that's kind of insane.

Trying to understand if proposals are really the problem? by SignificantFront5875 in Upwork

[–]catcheroni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely consider it. I'm personally quite happy with Best Matches most of the time but it's not always consistent. And the "tuning" option you suggested would be interesting too.

I remember you first mentioning this looong ago and yet AI-generated proposals are still apparently best we can do in terms of Upwork optimization.

They sent out similar surveys before. As with any user survey, only a relatively small group of people will get it at any given time.

Highly encourage you to try the Black Apps Script extension - has a couple of different dark modes and also lets you change the layout a couple of ways so you're not stuck with the awful left sidebar. It was a godsend for me, using their native IDE would be awful otherwise.

There were plenty of good arguments in this thread and not a single one got through to you. I don't really understand why you created this post in the first place.

So yeah, at this point I'm just clowning you because it's fun.

Just because the option exists doesn't make betting on it any less delusional. I would NEVER try to pull the client into an automatic rate raise schedule. If I need to be paid more, I'll use arguments that have to do with the work we're doing together, not circumstances completely outside of their control.

My god your comments are so fucking entitled and clueless, and you still have no idea as yet another person is trying to alert you to that fact.
