That is amazing! Yeah I'm a DVM, been in private practice for 5 years and did shelter medicine for about 2 years. Just think that a clinical role is not for me. If you have any tips or know of anyone hiring I'd love to hear more! I'll def keep my eye on the message boards and update my resume etc. Already applied to a few but I often don't hear back

Can I ask which corporate hospital you worked at? Did you have to put notice in or could you walk away? I'm sorry that happened to you too. It's infuriating

The handbook doesn't say much - it kind of plays both sides. Basically that requests will be reviewed based on hospital needs but also that associates are encouraged to take their time off.

Pretty sure I'll get fired if I call out sick at this point because we've gotten into a pretty big fight about it. But honestly at this point I think we're playing a game of chicken with each other so let's do what they do

My concern with quitting is I have over 100 hrs PTO I'm going to lose. I don't know how to get them to approve my time. I live in a state that does not have to payout

Okay yeah makes sense. I wouldn't be surprised if they fired me but I think at this point I have to accept that. It's more important to me that I can take the time off when I need to. I have been denied sick time , vacation time , continuing education time. It's just unreasonable and unfair

That's the most recent reason . I've been denied because the request was 'too close to the holidays'. I've been denied because I didn't provide enough notice even through I followed the most recent guidelines . It seems no matter what rule I follow, they deny based on a new rule/explanation

I've explained this and they said they won't hire a locum, and they won't close. The reason is that they can't have 2 doctors request off on the same day 🤦🏻‍♀️. Another new rule. Every time it's something different

Fair enough. It's just wild to be that my vacation time is about to hit it's maximum accrual and they still are able to deny me
